WALTER OJEDA- The legendary Henry Ford, what is the secret of his success?
Henry Ford.- If there is a secret of good success lies in the ability to appreciate the
point of view of the neighbor and see things from that point of view as well as one's
own. The secret of my success lies in paying as if I were prodigal and in selling as
if I were bankrupt.
ANDRES FELIPE- Even when difficulties arose, was he never afraid of failure?
Henry Ford. - Failure is a great opportunity to start again with more intelligence.
Failure is sometimes more fruitful than success.
ALEJANDRO PEDRAZA -At some point you thought you would not achieve your
goals?
Henry Ford.- Whether you think you can, or think you cannot, you're right.
CRISTIAN EDUARDO - how did he recover during the crisis left by the First World
War?
Henry Ford.- Most people spend more time and energy talking about problems
than facing them. Do not find the fault, find the remedy.
DEIVIT EDUARDO How complicated was it to take the reins of a company like the
Ford Company?
Henry Ford.- Thinking is the most difficult job that exists. Maybe that's the reason
why there are so few people who practice it.
DANIEL VINCHIRA- What was the main objective you were looking for as an
entrepreneur?
Henry Ford.- When we think that tomorrow will never come, it has already become
yesterday.

Canadian steam engineer Alfred Horner Monro invented the first automatic
transmission using compressed air in 1921, while General Motors created the first
automatic transmission using hydraulic liquid, the predecessor of today’s
transmissions, in the 1930s.
"Hydra-Matic" en 1940
The 1948 Oldsmobile was the first model to use a true automatic transmission. The
Hyrda-Matic, developed by GM engineer, Earl Thompso. The Hydra-Matic went
through continual upgrading and refinements through 1955, but the basic design
and theory used were consistent.
Automatic Transmission Operation
When the engine is running and the transmission is in Park or Neutral, the pump
produces pressure to keep the torque converter filled. No holding members are
applied, and no power reaches the planetary gears. The converter impeller turns
the turbine and input shaft, but the power stops at the planetary gears. In Park, the
parking gear holds the output shaft stationary.
When the transmission is placed in Drive, oil flows through the manual valve to one
or more holding members. The holding members apply, causing the planetary
gears to connect the input and output shafts. Engine power goes through the
converter impeller, through the turbine and input shaft, and into the planetary
gears. It exits the planetary gears and tries to turn the output shaft. If the brakes
are applied, the turbine, input shaft, and gears do not move. Fluid from the impeller
striking the turbine creates
friction and heat, which is removed by the cooler in the radiator. Once the vehicle
starts moving, the planetary gears reduce input shaft speed and increase torque to
get the vehicle moving.
As vehicle speed increases, the hydraulic control system moves various valves to
change which holding members are applied. This changes the rotation of the
planet gears and shifts the transmission into a higher gear. Power continues to flow
through the torque converter, input shaft, planet gears, and output shaft.
As vehicle speed continues to increase, other valves move to obtain higher gears
until the transmission is at its highest gear ratio. At some point, the control system
applies the lockup clutch for increased fuel economy. With the lockup clutch
applied, the impeller and turbine turn at the same speed.
It is an automatic "gearbox" that does not use gears but a metal band that
connects two pulleys. One of the pulleys has a variable diameter, which allows the
transmission to adjust the radius of the march with infinite possibilities and thus to
always be in the perfect gear.
Advantage
Its lowest cost, which is because a CVT uses fewer components than a manual or
automatic box. This cost can be reflected in the final price of the car and benefit the
consumer, who ends up paying less for a car that uses it.
The CVT is able to maintain the power and torque of the car always optimal, this
not only results in a better acceleration but also in a lower fuel consumption. This is
because the box has an infinite number of marching radii
Disadvantages
The most important reason for the shortcomings of the CVT transmission is that
this technology is relatively new to the personal car world and that at the same time
the consumer's perception of an efficient box and not of performance have made it
develop only for a niche. This is more evident when we talk about its lack of
capacity to withstand high power although in other segments it is applied in
engines over 1,000 hp.
Other disadvantages of CVT include its high maintenance costs. A breakdown can
be very expensive, at best, since it is very difficult to repair and in many cases it is
better to change the whole box. We also cannot fail to mention the sound they emit
when they accelerate and the slow response when accelerating thoroughly on
some occasions. The latter more present in older versions that have a metal band
that slides when the power is very high.
Many manufacturers have already had their attempts with the continuous variable
changes, among them we find Nissan, Honda, General Motors and perhaps the
one that has achieved greater fame is the Audi Multitronic box. And as the
regulations of emissions are hardened, a greater number of brands will begin to
take into account this option.
The IVT consists of a set of movable discs that rotate between drive and driven
races. Varying the angle of the discs varies the speed ratio between the drive and
driven races. Since sending power through the discs reverses the direction of
rotation, a second set of movable discs are installed behind the driven race. The
driven race powers a final output race through the discs. This again reverses
power flow so that power exits the transmission in the same direction as it entered.
The combination of ratios between the two sets of discs results in the final
transmis-sion ratio.
The angles of the movable discs are varied by servos that are operated by the
transmission’s hydraulic system.
An onboard computer monitors and adjusts the hydraulic system outputs based
on inputs from engine and road speed sensors.
Infinitely variable transmissions (IVTs), like the one shown here, are currently
being used in Asia.
In this IVT, a planetary gearset provides reverse. ( va escrito en la imagen)imprimir
