Child Study Team Meeting observation

I observed at Kettle Lake Elementary for a child study team meeting. It was very informative,

since I had never seen one before. They began by talking about the strengths of the student, I

really liked hearing that since so often the weaknesses of the student is always focused on. They

began by working as a team to figure out different ways to help the student and to meet their

needs. They came up with various ideas that the principal, special educator, school psychologist,

or general education teacher had. They looked at the students scores and figured out how they

could accommodate for the students lack of high scores. They came up with different ideas that

included having more one on one time with the teacher or having a reinforcement whenever

assignments are turned in. The child study team meeting was very beneficial for me to see and I

gained a lot of knowledge by observing during this time.
