Everyone present here are aware of what solid works PDM actually is.!
But I would like to introduce new product manage that is form SollidWorks PDM family
that extends the global file management and application integrations enabled by SOLIDWORKS PDM
Professional.
It is also fully integrated with windows explores it is easy to learn and effectively use.

Over the next 30 minutes, we’ll review these four major elements of SOLIDWORKS Manage,
those are
1. Dashboards
2. Project Management
3. BOMs and Records
4. and Process Management,

Present Days one of the biggest challenges with any product launch is determining the status of where the
project is.
With SOLIDWORKS Manage information like this can be presented in an easy to understand dashboards ,
that can be tailored not only to display the critical information YOU need,
but also present the RIGHT information to the functional areas of your team.

1. Reporting(Dashboards)
This real-time reporting can be tailored per user and can display data in a variety of chart styles to help
everyone make sense out of the complex data that is important to them.
Users can even have more than one dashboard for displaying Project information, Process Management
status, or file and record detail.
And data for the Dashboard isn’t limited to only SOLIDWORKS Manage. Dashboards can be connected to any
database of information.
SOLIDWORKS Manage Dashboards will help your team gain Real-time Insight so they can make great decisions,
quickly.
2. Project Management
Today, managing projects typically involves multiple, disconnected tools such as email, Microsoft Project and
Excel. They’re all good tools, but they’re not connected to the project team.
As we review the Project Management capabilities of SOLIDWORKS Manage, consider how this compares to
your process today.
Project Lists
After reviewing my dashboard, I’ll go straight over to Projects. From my list of projects, I can get a deeper
understanding of the progress status of each, and I can quickly consume project details through the preview
tabs at the bottom.
Projects also act as a container to pull together all supporting and related information.
Gannt charts can be created by templates that have key stages and milestones for your NPI process already
defined.
Once created, timelines can be easily modified with simple drag and drop. Assigned resources and tasks are
visible in the same area.
allocate what we anticipate the needed hours will be and to make it easy on our team,
we'll attach both the test specification and the design documents.
In the past, there'd be no way to do this because our projects weren't connected to our design documents.
Because SOLIDWORKS Manage is an extension of SOLIDWORKS PDM Pro, it's now easy to attach both
document records from PDM. We'll assign the appropriate resource to the task and we're done.
The integration extends further when it's time to ensure we have a complete BOM.
Inside our project we can leverage the existing mechanical BOM from PDM Pro, as well as capture those
additional items like tooling, electrical components, and packaging.
(click) project stages can be modified by updating the percentage complete on the stage. Your team can select
the project task their working on and log time directly against it.
This provides a powerful way of getting an actual value for time spent,
compared to estimated time and ensures you have visibility to whether a product is still on track for delivery.
Finally, it's important to be able to track issues that might arise as well as mitigate risks that are identified.
(click) Both are clearly captured in SOLIDWORKS Manage and connected to the project where the whole team
has visibility to review and act if needed.

With integrated Project Management connected to your CAD data with user tasks and time tracking, you will
be able to stay ahead of schedule.
SolidWorks PDM is a great tool for capturing the ENGINEERING BOM, but once the design is complete there is
still work to be done beyond the parts list.
We need to add items with no CAD data and create variations based on customer requirements or regional
component availability.
Trying to do this with spreadsheets or manual edits to CAD BOMs can introduce errors and limit the ability to
keep track of where everything is used. Watch how much can be done with Bills of Materials in SOLIDWORKS
Manage.
This bench assembly needs seat belts which are purchased items with no CAD data available.
SolidWorks Manage allows them to find existing records and choose the correct part by reviewing the related
documentation.
They can then add the part to the Bill of Material without any manual data entry or engineering resources
required.
SolidWorks Manage expands the BOM beyond the engineering process by accounting for all items necessary
for delivery.
BOM Collaboration:
Hear Marketing wants a label with our logo on the bench seat.
(click) With SolidWorks Manage, THEY create a new record for the label and adds it to the BOM.
Then they initiate a task to notify the graphics team to get started on the artwork.
This is one example of how SolidWorks Manage allows cross functional collaboration on the BOM.
BOM Variants
This time to our documentation team to localize the assembly instructions into English and German. Using
SolidWorks Manage,
the tasks roll up to the BOM showing the manager all the work that is being done to finalize the complete
BOM.
To accommodate multiple languages, the documentation team creates two BOM variants where they can then
attach the appropriate localized instructions.
This would be very challenging to achieve working only with a CAD BOM.
Our non CAD items AND the logo artwork have been accounted for The localization variants of the assembly
instructions are complete.
The Project Mgr can now approve the final cushion BOMs clearing the way for production.

With SOLIDWORKS Manage, your BOM will become more than just an engineering parts list... It becomes a
collaborative and complete record of everything needed to deliver an end product, whether made of
documents, CAD files or records.
4. Process Management
The only constant in life is change right? And as engineers do we know about change! For many of us,
SOLIDWORKS PDM helps control change through workflows. But at times, those workflows DON'T provide the
flexibility or VISIBILITY needed for your complete change process.
I need to start a change order that follows my business process based on several change requests.
Rather than hoping someone reads an email to take action, I need to assign some tasks to my engineering
team.
Connected To PDM:
SOLIDWORKS PDM shows me where this part is used in assemblies and drawings.
And now with SOLIDWORKS Manage, I have visibility to its use in Bills of Materials, Projects...and several
Engineering Change Requests.
I'm ready to start an engineering change process to implement the approved requests.
To make it easy, I'll launch the new change process directly from the part in PDM.
My change process requires specific input from the creator to make sure nothing gets missed.
Process Assignment
For example, I'd like my engineering manager, Dave, to give the change order an initial review. When Dave
looks over the process, if he needs to re-assign the initial review to someone else...he can do it.
Process Tasks
To make sure everything gets finished on-time, I'll create a new task and assign it to Mike. I can explain exactly
what needs to be done and even block out the hours I expect he needs.
Task Lists:
When Mike logs in, he will immediately see his to-do list of tasks. They even display on a calendar so Mike
knows WHEN to work on each item.
From there, the process continues through the necessary steps that have been configured for my business
needs, whether simple (click) or complex.
Process Visibility:
To make it easy to see, (click) everyone involved has visibility to the overall progress as well as who is
responsible for the next step.
My change process can even kick off a (click) sub-process to make sure the change is implemented in the
related bills of materials and pushed to our ERP software.
Process Reports:
I can run a quick report of the change at any time. (click) There is no need to fill out a document since
everything was gathered along the way.
SOLIDWORKS Manage can automatically send the same report to ANYONE to make sure nothing gets missed.
When you need comprehensive process control with Tasks, alternate approvers, parallel activities and reports,
SOLIDWORKS Manage is there to help keep constant control of that constant change to help you achieve
Repeatable Execution.
