INSTRUCTIONS
You are required to use ONE (1) Text for each question.
The texts you choose must be ones that you studied in class.
Write the full name of the text - novel, short story or play on the first line of your answer to
each question. Refer to the texts to support your answers.
1. Character
(a) Identify the character and the name of the text used. (2 marks)
(c) Describe the situation, which existed before and after the change. (3 marks)
(d) Explain one (1) way in which the change has affected the character’s
life. (4 marks)
(e) Explain two (2) things the character learns about him / herself as a result
of this change. (8 marks)

(b) State the main character’s name and position in society. (3 marks)
(c) Describe the setting where the significant event takes place. (3 marks)
(d) Explain the atmosphere created in the text because of the setting? (3 marks)
(e) Briefly narrate the significant event, which has allowed the character to
contribute or impact on his/her community. (5 marks)
(f) (i) Do you view this contribution / impact as good or bad? (1 mark)

(c) Describe the problem being experienced or the dilemma being faced. (3 marks)
(d) Briefly describe the character’s feelings during the situation being
experienced. (3 marks)
(e) Describe how the character solved the problem or resolved the
dilemma. (5 marks)
(f) (i) Do you think that the problem could have been avoided? (1 mark)
(g) If you were the character, state what you would have done differently. (3 marks)
