of Greenhouse gases
by
Peem Poramin 1002
The purpose of this presentation is to show my understanding about my topics.
All of the information are from all of my work and researches.
In this project, i have chosen to work on two topics which are overuse of pesticide
and the released of greenhouse gases from industrial farming.
Overuse of Pesticide
What do i know about Pesticide?
-I know that Pesticide is the chemical substances the is use for killing pest.
-Many farmers use these chemicals to their crops so that pest won’t disturb their crops.
-So when farmers use the same pesticide for sometime, the pest will develop a genetic resistance which will
allows them to fight and survive with the pesticide; therefore, people are making stronger pesticide to eliminate
them.
Why do we need to concern about having too much GHG in our atmosphere?
-We need to concern about it, because if there’s too much GHG it may cause changes in our
climates!!!!. GLOBAL WARMING!!!
Where can we find GHG in the industrial farming?
-Cows’ fart -Pile of manure -Rice paddies -Fertilizers
Methane Nitrous Oxide
“Fertilizer will produce GHG when
we add too much of it than the
plants can absorb.”
Solutions to this problem:
At first i have a problem to find the solution to this topic; however, after i found it i understand why it
is hard to find. Because the solution to this topic is not simple, it needs some interaction between
many things, it contain many details that took some researches.
-To changes the livestocks food.
If we change the food, it does not stop the animals from producing GHG, but it can reduce the
amount of it. As we include more lipids in their food they will produce lesser Methane; however if
we add too much it will cause side-effects in their digestion of nutrients.
-Leaving the plants intact to the soil after harvest.
When the plant decay, nutrients will be added to the soil which will affect the process to
producing nitrous oxide from bacteria. This will help reducing the amount of nitrous
oxide emission.
