THE REMOTE SURVEY (RECCE)

LOCATION VISIT SHEET

Production title: Sniffed!

Production team: Harry Fitzjohn + Jed Dayus

Producer: Harry Fitzjohn

Client: Ourselves

Date of survey: 28/04/18 Proposed filming date: 01/05/18

Location: Pilhay Farm

Permission needed: Joanne Fitzjohn (Landowner), email: Joanefitzjohn@yahoo.co.uk,

Tele:07976638574.

Traffic problems: The location has a Train track nearby which will be a noise disturbance, as well as a
plane flight path, directly over the location, we will combat this noise intrusion by keeping aware of
the time when filming because the trains will come by approximately every 15 mins, and planes
approximately every 30-40 minutes. So we will film in between these intervals, and if one does pass
by, we will wait and or reshoot said scene.

Local conditions: We have researched into the weather conditions of the filming date, and we know
that it is not supposed to rain at any point during our filming session. If the forecast was incorrect,
and there was a forecast of rain, fog etc, we would film another day as it would effect our footage
drastically. The terrain of where we are filming has lots of gravel on the ground, this will effect our
filming as movement will be louder, so we have a boom pole to capture the audio from a height
where there will be little audio intrusions from the gravel.

Intrusions: Because the location we are filming is private land, there will be no intrusions of passers-
by and or music. I spoke about noise intrusions from trains and airplanes in the Traffic Problems
section.

Continuity: Because we are filming in an old small barn with few vehicles there is a very little chance
for any background objects to be moved, the main concern for continuity if we do in fact return to
film, would be the time of day, effecting the light/suns position.

Electricity/Lighting issues/Sound : We will have no need of an electricity supply as we will have 3

spare batteries that will last more than long enough. If batteries do all deplete of charge, there is a
house on sight which we have full access to electricity to charge the batteries. We will be filming at
2pm so the light from the sun will be adequate. If we run out of sunlight, we finish filming and return
another day. The only sound equipment required is a shotgun microphone, Boom pole, XLR cable,
Male to Female Converter and a Lumix GX9 camera.
Set dressing: We specifically chose this location as it has a perfect mise on scene for the scene we
are shooting. It has the impact of seclusion because of the abandoned farm building.

Welfare: Will have a total of 5 crew members on the day of filming, and they have full access to
refreshments and toilets in the house on sight, and will have no need to stay overnight as we are
planning to get the shot done in one day of filming. If we have to come back and film more for the
scene, we will just travel back to the location.

Parking/Public transport to location: Our Crewmembers each have a first bus pass which they can
use to get on the X1/X2 bus that goes directly to the filming location.

Possible dates for filming: The date we have planned for filming is the 01/05/18 as all crew
members are available. If for any reason we cannot film, we will film exactly a week later.
