Re: Ali Cozart, First Year Teacher

For the past 10 weeks, I have had the pleasure of being Ali Cozart’s faculty supervisor from
Medicine Hat College in the the MRU Education degree program. She was placed in a grade
2 classroom at IF Cox in the Prairie Rose School Division. Throughout the 10 weeks that I
observed Ali, I saw a teacher who built strong relationships with students and thoughtfully
and competently planned and facilitated her lessons.

Ali is excited and passionate about her career as an educator. Her kind and calm teacher
presence made students want to be involved in the lessons she created. She confidently
handled issues that arose with students with minimal conflict, always seeking to focus
students using positive classroom management strategies. I always enjoyed being in her
classroom because students were on task and enjoying their learning experiences.

Ali is a hard working and committed professional. She is competent at using the Alberta
Program of Studies to plan her lessons and units. As well, she is dedicated to creating
assessments that are fair indications to her and her students of where they are according to
the outcomes.

Working with Ali Cozart was a pleasure and I highly recommend her in her future endeavors.
