Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present, without compromising
the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

REACTION REPORT ABOUT THE SONG ‘KAPALIGIRAN’ BY ASIN AND ITS RELATION TO SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT

The song Kapaligiran is made to make us aware that our surrounding is little by little being
destroyed and that it is very much related to the Development of technology. So what we need to do
the most is to lessen the damage or impact of technology to our surroundings so that we can preserve
the beauty of nature and the benefits it brings to the future generations. But how can we do it? We
must develop something to sustain technological advancement while at the same time sustaining our
surroundings.

A lot of technology has been develop for this purpose for example solar panel that provides
electricity and there is also garbage’s used as energy and sometimes recycled and some of them can be
used as fertilizers. But my main reaction is that this song is used to question as like “are we doing things
right?” and that will we turn a blind eye to the things happening around us. But I guess we can say that
we have noticed and we are trying to do things to sustain our surrounding and continue to develop our
economy at the same time my proof is what I have said above.

I particularly like this line from them “bakit di natin pagisipan ang nangyayari sa ating kapaligiran
hindi na masama ang pag-unlad kung hindi nakakasira ng kalikasandarating ang panahon mga ibong gala
ay wala nang madadapuan masdan mo ang mga punong dati ay kay tatag ngayo'y namamatay dahil sa
'ting kalokohan” I feel that this line says that we must improve in a way that we don’t harm the
environment and of course the people around us and the future generations.
