questionnaire the criminal record checks for E2

visa holders

※ It is advised for current E2 teacher or E2 visa

applicant to contact with his/her embassy for

details.

1. Canadian Embassy in Korea

Canadian Embassy in Korea is not able to provide criminal

record checks for E2 visa holders. Criminal record check

must be done through either Royal Canadian Mounted

Police(www.rcmp.ca) or local police station.

2. Embassy of the U.S. in Korea

Embassy of the U.S. in Korea is not able to provide

criminal record checks for citizens or residents of the


United States, nor can the Embassy verify or notarize the

records. A U.S. citizen must contact the Federal Bureau of

Investigation or the local police department where they

last resided in the U.S. to obtain a copy of his or her

criminal records. Furthermore, an FBI records check can

take at least four months, and a local police department

check can take several weeks depending on the

jurisdiction in which it was requested. For further

contains information about obtaining records checks.

3. The Embassy of British in Korea

The Embassy of British in Korea is not able to provide

criminal record checks for E2 visa holders of British, nor

can the Embassy verify or notarize the records. For

4. The Embassy of New Zealand in Korea

The Embassy of New Zealand in Korea cannot provide any

criminal record checks or name check service, nor can

the New Zealand Embassy verify criminal record checks

that are presented by private N.Z. citizens. For further

5. The Irish Embassy in Korea

The Embassy of Ireland, Seoul do not provide the criminal

record and not authenticate any documents executed in

Ireland. This must be done by the Department of Foreign

Affairs in Ireland.

6. The Embassy of South Africa in Korea

the Embassy of SA in Korea do not provide the criminal

record check and not allowed to authenticate the


documents executed in South Africa, it must be done at

Foreign Affairs, South Africa.

7. The Australian Embassy in Korea

The Australian Embassy in Korea cannot provide any

criminal record checks or name check service, nor can

verify criminal records that are presented by private
