Madison County Board of Education Selects Mrs. Kimber L.

Halliburton as Superintendent

The Madison County Board of Education is pleased to announce their unanimous selection of Mrs.
Kimber L. Halliburton as the next Superintendent of Madison County Schools.
“Madison County Schools is pleased to welcome Mrs. Kimber Halliburton as our new Superintendent,”
said Board President Philip Huskey, “Mrs. Halliburton impressed the Board with her vision for the District. Her
vision, along with her obvious experience and educational leadership, made her the candidate of choice to
lead our district into the future to achieve continued educational success for our students, teachers, and
faculty.”
Mrs. Halliburton brings nearly three decades of experience in education to the role of Superintendent
of Madison County Schools. She currently serves as Director and Superintendent of Schools in Washington
County, Tennessee, which under her leadership earned Exemplary status, saw an increase in graduation rates,
and received recognition for students’ outstanding academic growth. Her distinguished career in education
includes serving as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and network lead principal before working the last
two years in the role of Superintendent.
“I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to serve the students and families of Madison
County,” said Halliburton, “As I toured schools on the day of my interview, the Board’s ‘Mark of Excellence’
was evident in every school. Dr. McGehee has accomplished much for me to build upon. I am eager to begin
establishing relationships and hit the ground running with the work ahead to continue the forward progress of
student outcomes and achievement in Madison County.”
Mrs. Halliburton is a lifelong learner currently pursuing her Doctorate in Leadership and Professional
Effectiveness from Trevecca Nazarene University. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from
Trevecca Nazarene University and her undergraduate degree in Special and Elementary Education from
Middle Tennessee State University. As an administrator, Mrs. Halliburton has garnered numerous accolades,
including being named the Tennessee Education Association’s Distinguished Administrator of the Year in 2014-
2015, representing Middle Tennessee. Mrs. Halliburton is a respected leader in her field, serving as a State
Trainer for the Tennessee Department of Education and a District Trainer on topics ranging from leadership to
evaluation. Mrs. Halliburton has made numerous presentations at regional and national conferences.
“The Madison County Board of Education has selected a very qualified candidate for the job of
Superintendent. I have full faith that Mrs. Halliburton will continue the important work of leading our
students, teachers, and administrators and ensure that Madison County Schools carries on as the Mark of
Excellence in education,” said current Madison County Schools Superintendent Dr. Ronnie L. McGehee.
Dr. McGehee will serve as Superintendent through June, with Mrs. Halliburton officially becoming
Superintendent in July. Mrs. Halliburton plans to move to Madison County next month to begin working
alongside Dr. McGehee for a seamless transition in leadership.
