Objective
To obtain an elementary school teaching position or supply work for the coming 2018 school year; in turn allowing me to
utilize my strengths in the classroom, tending to the individualized educational needs of my students as well as personal
development.

Education
St. Thomas University (Fredericton) 2017 - Present
Currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program (elementary stream). Completed/completing elective courses in
educational psychology, First Nations education, early years education and youth at risk.

University of New Brunswick (Fredericton) 2013 - 2017


Completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree. While attending UNB, was enrolled in various science, math,
psychology and youth development courses.

Teaching and Youth Specific Experience


Practicum Placement (2) – Forest Hill School March – May 2018
 Assumed full teaching responsibilities in a Kindergarten classroom over 8 weeks spent at Forest Hill School. In
recognizing the varying needs of each student in the class, differentiation was used within lessons and applied to in-class
work to meet the individual needs of those students with behavioral considerations and exceptionalities, as well as
English second language students.

Practicum Placement (1) – Garden Creek School November – December 2017


 Assumed full teaching responsibilities over 7 weeks at Garden Creek School. Was responsible for teaching Physical
Education to all students enrolled in the elementary school, from Kindergarten to Grade 5. In addition to instructional
duties, assumed organizational and supervision roles of intramural activities, including gymnastics, KHO and yoga.
Volunteered time at school fundraisers and student activities as well.

Childcare 2011 to Present


 Watched over children of various developmental stages, from months old to middle school age, for both short and long
periods of time.

Biometrics Strength and Conditioning November 2016 to October 2017


 General Manager - Oversaw the general and administrative proceedings at the Biometrics Strength and Conditions, and
handled any unforeseen problems that may arise. Duties included managing coaches, memberships, schedules, payroll,
revenue/profit, supply purchasing and website management.
 Social Media Coordinator - Created daily posts, such as videos, photos and recipes on social media platforms like
Facebook, Instagram and Youtube to advertise Biometrics and facilitate foot traffic to the gym’s website, in turn
recruiting new members.

Volunteer Positions
Classroom Helper 2013 – Present
 Volunteered at Nelson Rural School in various classrooms, ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 8, whenever available to
do so. Currently partnered with Garden Creek School, spending time in classrooms and the gymnasium on select
Fridays.

Becoming Creators Camp January and February 2018


 Volunteered at youth workshop camp held at public library. Worked with children, in grades 3 to 5, in small groups,
assisting their learning and design in pre-coding activities, creative technologies and MakerSpace stations.

Biometrics Intramural Open January - March 2017 and 2018


 2017 – Personally planned 5 weeks of workouts and challenges for over 60 athletes to raise funds. Contacted, organized
and managed donations for the Fredericton Food Bank, Fredericton SPCA and clothing for Diabetes Association.
Spearheaded a barbeque, 3 community events, promotional videos, contacted local businesses for prize donations and
numerous other organizational responsibilities in addition to the latter listed duties.
 2018 – Partnered with another individual to share the above responsibilities due to increased workload in personal life.

Special Olympics Coach October 2016 – April 2017


 Coached basketball to athletes through the Special Olympics organization in Fredericton.

Vincovis Strength and Support January 2017


 Aided in the organization and running of a fundraiser to launch the Vincovis Strength and Support program, which is for
Veterans and First Responders suffering from mental illness, such as anxiety, depression and PTSD. Was additionally
responsible for the promotional posts and videos.

Basketball Camp Coach and Referee Winter and Summer Seasons 2009 – 2014
 Coached basketball to athletes, in Grades 3 to 6, at both camps and workshops held during the winter and summer
seasons through the Tommies Minor Basketball organization in Miramichi.
 Refereed female elementary school basketball games in Miramichi.

Skills and Accomplishments


As an employee, I am very responsible, on time, polite, hard worker, well mannered, communicates well, respectable, and
excel at both individual and team tasks. As an educator, I pride myself on being enthusiastic and connecting with students
through building relationships, all the while fostering a love for learning.

o Member of the University of New Brunswick Red Sticks Field Hockey team – 2014 - 2018 (Captain) seasons

o Certified in Emergency First Aid with CPR-B training through the Lifesaving Society (May 2017 – May 2019)

o Dean’s List – 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 academic years at the University of New Brunswick

o UNB Kin Games Team – Represented UNB student body at largest student conference in Canada (Winnipeg) –
