BBC Radio 4 is a radio station owned and operated by the British
Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) that broadcasts a wide variety
of spoken-word programmes including news, drama, comedy,
science and history. It replaced the BBC Home Service in 1967.
The station controller is Gwyneth Williams, and the station is part
of BBC Radio and the BBC Radio department. The station
is broadcast from the BBC's headquarters at broadcasting house,
London

My Idea:

My Idea is to create a Radio Drama of the Roald Dahl Children’s

book: George’s Marvellous Medicine. I think this will be a huge
success in the sense that - many kids don’t really listen to radio
themselves so this can encourage kids to listen to their own radio
station instead of listening to their parents favourite music.

I think this will be a great opportunity for me to show off my skills

in radio and Foley. You might be thinking, why Foley? This is because
Foley sounds are my speciality and I want to show off how realistic I
can make things sound without having a visual representation to
show what it is.

I plan to use Foley and recording techniques that I have

practiced throughout the 2 years of being in The Henley College
and Produce a professional production.

My Target Audience:

I have decided to make my target audience children, both males

and females, from the ages of 5 to 10 years old. I have picked this
age group because they tend to be the main target audience of
Roald Dahl books. I believe I can make a radio drama that
appeals to 5 - 10 year olds because it will already be a Roald Dahl
book and I will add in plenty of Foley sounds for the kids to listen to
so that they don't get bored.
