Lore:
Perseus is known as one of the greater monster slayers before Hercules, hence the creature removal power. Only power to permanently remove creatures from play.

Midas known for his golden touch, hence the touching of "technology" via power tiles to render it useless and unpurchasable in exchange for some minor PP gain. Midas eventually successfully
prays for the golden touch to go away, hence the temple restriction.

Penthesilea known as a powerful warrior that lost to Achilles in battle. Achilles removed her helmet and instantly fell in love with her, leaving battle to mourn and bury the body. Hence: ignore
battle damage (Achilles leaves mid-battle) and the loss of battle VP (mourning too great)

Hector known as a roundabout great warrior and ruler. His death prompted great grief but also spurred powerful backlash. Hence, his sacrifice bolsters gain.

Ulysses known for traveling long distances to come home, prompting great loyalty from his followers back at home. Hence: keeping your own pyramids loyal to you increases gains.

Achilles known for being high-key unbeatable minus 1 small weakness. Hence: extreme battle power but any loss spells doom.

Rules:
End of every Day Phase (before Night Phase resolutions), moving in turn order, players may declare which Greek Legend to worship (player may choose to skip declaration). After all wanted
Heroes have been declared, start worshiping (bidding) for the first declared Hero. When bidding, all players who want that Hero secretly indicate how many prayer points they are willing to
pay and (after countdown) reveal their totals to everyone. The player that was willing to pay the most attaches the Hero to any available troop (following normal creature attachment rules); all
other players lose their indicated prayer points (their worship falls on deaf ears) even if they did not win; if there is a tie for highest total, the player earliest in turn order receives the Hero.
Continue bidding for all declared Heroes in order of declaration until there are no more declared Heroes.

If at any point a Hero cannot be placed with a troop OR that Hero’s linked troop is wiped, return the Hero to the supply (rather than player’s board)—ready to be bid for the next Day Phase.
Any time “remove” is referenced, this means removed from the game.

Balance Notes:
All tiles are variable pricing and have no pyramid requirements. Variable pricing means it costs as many prayer points as your group thinks its worth, solving the issue of "overtuned" heroes
because these heroes would just be bid for higher costs.

Counter Hector
1. deny the island temples from Hector (having creatures on a defending troop helps)
2. deal at least 1 damage to Hector’s linked troop (even during the Day), removing him from the game
3. kill hero’s linked troop with Rain of Fire/any other damage dealing card, forcing the hero to be returned to supply
4. buy/outbid for the hero
5. all heroes take up a creature slot; by taking this hero, the player gives up attaching Scorpion, Beetle, Phoenix, etc!

Counter Midas:
1. take control of the map, gaining temple VP and greater amounts of prayer points
2. if Midas enters play, quickly move to buy up the lower cost power tiles since Midas will likely be removing the 4-cost tiles, leaving only the lower cost tiles in play (and therefore, increasing
the impact of these lower cost tiles because they are the only tiles available)
3. kill hero’s linked troop with Rain of Fire/any other damage dealing card, forcing the hero to be returned to supply
4. buy/outbid for the hero
5. all heroes take up a creature slot; by taking this hero, the player gives up attaching Scorpion, Beetle, Phoenix, etc!

Counter Perseus:
1. run a less valuable creature into battle to force the Perseus removal
2. keep valuable creature away from Perseus / ignore him entirely (Perseus offers NO battle bonuses or movement)
3. kill hero’s linked troop with Rain of Fire/any other damage dealing card, forcing the hero to be returned to supply
4. buy/outbid for the hero
5. all heroes take up a creature slot; by taking this hero, the player gives up attaching Scorpion, Beetle, Phoenix, etc!

Counter Penthesilea
1. run any troop into Penthesilea to force remove her
2. attack her with your first move action so that you may gain battle VP on your second move action
3. kill hero’s linked troop with Rain of Fire/any other damage dealing card, forcing the hero to be returned to supply
4. buy/outbid for the hero
5. all heroes take up a creature slot; by taking this hero, the player gives up attaching Scorpion, Beetle, Phoenix, etc!

Counter Ulysses
1. invade player’s city, preferably with Open Gates
2. kill hero’s linked troop with Rain of Fire/any other damage dealing card, forcing the hero to be returned to supply
3. buy/outbid for the hero
4. all heroes take up a creature slot; by taking this hero, the player gives up attaching Scorpion, Beetle, Phoenix, etc!

Counter Achilles
1. Achilles will likely be walking around with a linked troop of 1 or 2, killing range of Rain of Life/Initiative/Deadly Trap/Medusa/Scorpion etc.
2. Achilles will likely be playing all the Defense battle cards, discarding all his high strength/damage cards (the player’s other troops won’t be able to use these discarded cards)
3. buy/outbid for the hero
4. all heroes take up a creature slot; by taking this hero, the player gives up attaching Devourer

FAQ:
If you successfully outbid everyone and would purchase Midas BUT you currently own a temple, immediately remove Midas from the game without using his effect.
Penthesilea removes only the battle VP gained up until the point of her removal.
The DI card Divine Protection (ignore all damage if you win a battle) combos very nicely with Achilles
