On 13th Feb, 2018
Devatop empowered a female victim
of human trafficking in Abuja with
sewing machine and cash to start a
fashion design business.

(APPG)Visited Devatop to learn about her
anti-human trafficking projects.

On 28th Feb, 2018,Devatop hosted an international Intern, Kristi Koci from Italy, who will work
with Devatop to engage private sectors from March to May, 2018.
On 8th March, 2018, Devatop started her HumansNot4Trade
Campaign, which is part of her project titled: “End Human
Trafficking and Irregular Migration Advocacy”.
This campaign will take place in FCT, Edo state, Kano, Lagos,
and Kaduna.During the launch, Devatop team sensitized 150
Internally Displaced Persons in Durumi on human
trafficking, and donated food items to women and children.

Devatop also got six months approval from
Education Board to sensitize students in 20 schools
on dangers of irregular migration and human
trafficking. Volunteers in Edo State, Lagos State,
Kaduna and Benue State will be equipped to
carryout campaign in their states

On 15th March, 2018, PR Times Africa partnered


Devatop Centre for Africa Development and
National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in
Persons (NAPTIP) to organize a symposium on
Ending Irregular Migration and Human
Trafficking, at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

On 24th March, 2018, Devatop trained 120 Nigerian
Law Students as anti-human trafficking advocates,
under the project titled “Voice4Victims” The
lawyers are to provide pro bono legal services for
victims of human trafficking

On 14th April, 2018, Devatop formally started

Abuse in Lagos State. The volunteers in Lagos
are expected to spread the information about
human trafficking and irregular migration in
communities and report incidences.

In 2017, Ada, an indigene of Nnewi in Anambra State, Southern
Nigeria was trafficked to Mali with a promise of picking diamond
and make money. When her madam brought her to Mali, she was
kept at an isolated location with other girls. She was sold three
times to different traffickers.

After she was rescued, on 6th April, 2018 Devatop Centre For
Africa Development, through its Victims Support Services
(VVV)provided financial support for her to start a restaurant
business.
