Indefinite Articles – ‘a’ & ‘an’
(a ) To show a Singular Noun eg: a book, a boy, a bat, an egg,
- an apple, an elephant, etc
(i) Vowel Sounds ( a, e, I, o, u ) – use “an”
Silent “h” - -use “an”
(ii) Consonant Sounds ( b, c, d, …z) – use “a”

(I) Verbs end with – “o”, “sh”, “ch” – add “es” to the root form

(a) with a Vowel in front of “y” like in – play, enjoy, buy
Just add “s” to the word – plays, enjoys, buys
(b) with a Consonant in front of “y” like in – fly, try, carry
Change the “y” to “ies” – flies, tries, cries
Note :
1. Verbs for ‘Habitual Actions’ and ‘Universal Truths’; we take a consideration on the Subject
Verb Agreement.
2. Verbs for ‘Imperative / Instructional Language’ are remain in their base forms.
