Priest: May the Holy Spirit always fill your hearts with The deep love of a man and woman that is expressed in marriage
is the most perfect union that we knew in this world. It is a

And His love endures even beyond the bonds of death.

Surely, the Renewal of Marriage vows of Ruben and Corazon

today is a sacred event; offering once again, their deep
commitment to each other in love – as living witnesses to the
love of Christ.

PRAYER OF THE FAMILY

Our Father in heaven, we thank you for the gift of family, for the
love and joys we share. Continue to help us show our gratitude
to you by loving each other more. We thank you, for the friends
you gifted us; for professional successes; and for the
opportunities you continue to give us to be of help to others.

Gift us the grace of patience and understanding to bear with one

another, generosity of heart, and honesty to admit our faults and
correct them.

O Lord Jesus, continue to be the head of our homes, make them

a shrine of peace, love and charity.
O Dear Mother Mary and St. Joseph, please intercede for our
families, for all our friends and kin, especially those present
today, in all our needs. AMEN.

Commentator: Good afternoon. Welcome to the
Eucharistic celebration of the 50th Wedding
Anniversary of Ruben and Corazon Villareal. Our

from heaven. Bless Ruben and Corazon on their
anniversary; let their love grow stronger that they
may find within themselves a greater peace and
joy; bless their home that all who come to it in need

FIRST READING (Gen 2: 18-24)
Reader 1: A Reading from the Book of Genesis
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man
to be alone. I will make a suitable partner for him”. So,
the Lord God formed out of the ground various wild
animals and various birds of the air, and she brought
them to the man to see what he would call them;
whatever the man called each of them would be it’s
name. The man gave names to all the cattle, all the
birds of the air, and all the wild animals. But none
proved to be the suitable partner for the man. So, the
LORD God cast a deep sleep on the man, and while he
was asleep, he took one of his ribs and closed up its
place with flesh. The Lord God then, built up into a
woman the rib that he had taken from the man. When
brought her to the man, the man said, This one, at last,
bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one shall
be called ‘woman’, for out of ‘her man’ this one has
been taken.” That is why a man leaves his father and
mother and clings to his wife. And the two of them
become one Body.

The Lord’s Prayer
Priest: Let us pray with confidence to the Father in the
words our Savior gave us:

After the Lord’s Prayer, and omitting the embolism
“Deliver us,” the celebrant faces the couple and, with
hands outstretched says:
Priest: Lord God and Creator, we bless and praise your
name. In the beginning you made man and woman,
so that they might enter a communion of life and
love. You likewise blessed the union of Ruben and
Corazon so that they might reflect the union of
Christ with his Church: look with kindness on them
today. Amid the joys and struggles of their life you
have preserved the union between them; renew
 their marriage covenant, increase your love in
them, and strengthen their bond of peace, so that
he was given up to death, a death he freely
accepted, He took the bread and gave you thanks.
He broke the bread, gave it to His disciples, and
said: Take this, all of you, and eat it. This is my
body, which will be given up for you.
When supper was ended, he took the cup. Again
he gave you thanks and praise, gave the cup to his
disciples, and said: Take this, all of you, and drink
from it. This is the cup of my blood of the new and
everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for

offer you, Father, this life-giving bread, this saving

love, together with Pope Francis our Pope,
Famadico our Archbishop, his assistant Bishops and
all the clergy.

Submit yourselves to one another because of
your reverence for Christ. I may be able to speak the
languages of men and even of angels, but if I have no
love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a
clanging bell. I may have the gift of inspired
preaching; I may have all knowledge and understand
all secrets; I may have all the faith needed to move
mountains – but if I have no love, I am nothing. I may
give away everything I have and even give up my
body to be burned but if I have no love, this does me
no good. Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or
conceitedor proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish
or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs;
love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.
Love never gives up; and its faith, hope and patience

Love is man’s origin, love is his constant
calling; love is his fulfillment in heaven. The love
of man and woman is made holy in the sacrament
of marriage, and becomes the mirror of your
everlasting love. Through Christ, the choirs of
angels and all the saints praise and worship your
glory. May their voices blend with theirs as we join
their unending hymn:

Priest: Lord, you are holy indeed, the fountain of all

Priest: Father, the blood and water that flowed from
the wounded heart of Christ your son was a sign of
the mystery of our rebirth; accept theses gifts we
offer in thanksgiving. Continue to bless the
marriage of Ruben and Corazon with all your
gifts. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

RITE OF RENEWAL

RENEWAL OF MARRIAGE VOWS
Priest: Dearly beloved Ruben and Corazon, you
stand here today before the Lord to give Him thanks
for having shown you his love in a very special way
when He blessed and consecrated your love on the
day of your marriage. Assuring you to stand by your
side in your every need, he entrusted the success of
your married life to you as a task and as a gift. You
thank him now for all these years of shared joys and
sacrifices, perhaps also sorrows and struggles, which
are part of life. You still need him now that you may
continue on the way of love and loyalty, which
cannot but go on growing. This Christian
community rejoices with you and asks the Lord that
he may bless you and keep you in His Love.
May I ask you, dear brothers and sisters, to join Ruben
and Corazon in giving thanks to the Lord for his
goodness and in praying that they may grow together
living in God’s love. Now, please, join your right
hands.

together your unending Marriage Feast in
heaven. Bless this our wish and task.

Almighty Father has given married life, its
faithfulness, and its fruitfulness, a special

and respond to fidelity to your covenant; fill with
your blessings your servants who are celebrating
their 50th wedding anniversary. We pray:
