Octopus

Thesis
In the ocean there’s all kinds of animals but I’m just going to
focus on one, the octopus. My thesis is that the octopus have
many skills that can be use to protect from other predators.
Abstract
My thesis is that the octopus have many skills that can be
use to protect from other predators. Octopus can be find in
Monterey bay. One of the skills is that they can match the
colors, patterns. and the texture of anything else to
camouflage from other predators. The other one is that
octopus release a cloud of black ink. Also they are Fast
swimmers. And the last thing is that they can lose an arm to
escape a predator's grasp. If they use this skill well they will
be able to survey from other predators. The research that I
did supported my idea. In the future, marines Biological will
know how they can match the colors and patterns texture of
something else.
Research
The octopus can almost instantaneously match the
colors, patterns, and even textures of its surroundings.
Predators such as sharks, eels, and dolphins swim by without
even noticing it. Also an octopus will release a cloud of black
ink to obscure its attacker's view, giving it time to swim away.
The ink even contains a substance that dulls a predator's
sense of smell, making the fleeing octopus harder to track.
Fast swimmers, they can jet forward by expelling water
through their mantles. And finally if all else fails, an octopus
can lose an arm to escape a predator's grasp and regrow it
later with no permanent damage.

At this time there are several areas of research looking

at part of the ocean for octopus populations. The Marines
Biological is currently doing research in the Marines
Biological laboratory observing the octopus population. The
data that the Marines Biological collected indicates that the
octopus population is very healthy at this time and has been
remaining stable. Also they are doing observation to the blood
of the octopus. The information that I learned said that
octopus blood have Many thousands of color-changing cells
called chromatophores just below the surface of the skin are
responsible for these remarkable transformations that change
the color
Food
According to National Geographic, the common octopus
preys on crabs, crayfish and molluscs. Bottom-dwelling
octopuses feed mainly on polychaete worms, crabs, whelks
and clams. Open-ocean octopuses subsist on prawns, fish and
other cephalopods. The giant Pacific octopus feeds on shrimp,
clams, lobsters and fish, and even larger prey, such as sharks
and birds.

Future
In my opinion I think this animals is very impressive. So I
hope that in the future this animal can still exists so that other
people can see what this impressive animal can do.
Also the Marines Biological are investigating how can the
octopus can change the color and texture to camouflage.

Conclusión
In conclusion this animals have several skills so they can
protect from other predators. As I was doing my research, I
found something that got my attention. What got my attention
is that an octopus has 3 Hearts and 9 Brains. I think this is
interesting because I don’t think there’s another animals that
have 3 Hearts or 9 Brains.
