Number of Vedas

Veda is only one knowledge source in the world. It was expressed as 18 in number.
Later Brahmarshi Vyasa divided it into 11 parts:

1. Rug
2. Yajur
3. Sama
4. Atharva
5-6. Para-Apara or Shukla-Krishna.
7. Ayu
8. Jyotisha
9. Dhanu
10. Artha
11. Lokachara

7-11 were combined and called as Panchama Veda. So existing 4 Vedas + non-
existing 5 Vedas sum up to 9. Each having its Shukla-Krishna division gives the
product 18. This is the actual count of Vedas!

Education Types: Agni Vidhya = Spiritual Education and Mruthyu Vidhya = Worldly
Education

There were 4 main stream Courses called as Vidhya Varnas:

1. Brahma: Jnana = Knowledge oriented

2. Kshatra: Bala = Administration and Power oriented
3. Vaishya: Sampath = Bussiness & management oriented
4. Shudra = Bhakti = Devotion & service oriented

So 4 main Daayaka's = providers: Bala, Jnana, Sampath, Bhakti.

Birth + Development -> Human + Upaneetha -> Vatu + severe interest & Prerequisits=
Vidhyarthi (Student)

Prerequists: Basic studies in the following streams will qualify vatu to become a
Vidhyarthi:
1. Veda: Ultimate truth & knowledge
2. Upanishat: Elaboration of some veda mantra.
3. Saamajika Ithihaasa: historical events, related to divinity, austerity,
morality, written for the society.
4. Purana: Ancient narration of the universe from creation to destruction,
genealogies of kings, heroes, sages, and demigods, and descriptions of Hindu
cosmology, philosophy, and geography.
5. Prakruthi Parisa: Environmental Science.
6. Samaja Dharma: Social Conduct.

This department is for knowledge oriented Education.

Vatu + Necessary Suktas, Stotras, Pooja Mantras, Dasha Upanishats = Vidhyarthi

+ Veda of their Shaakha, ShaaKhokta Sutra Lessons, Poorva & Para Prayogas,
Knowledge of Srautha & Smartha Nithya karmaanushtana = Purohit

+ Dwivedi, Trivedi, Chaturvedi, Vedanga Brahmana, Aranyaka, Upanishat, Literature =

Upadhyaya
+ Tharka, Vyakarana, Alankara, Kavya = Mahopadhyaya

+ Vedanga Sutras, Shatapata Gaana Sutra, Tantra Sutra = Acharya

+ Nyaya Shastra, Artha Shastra, Dharma Shastra Sutras, Advaita, Dvaita,

Vishishtadvaita, Vedanta Darshana & Siddantas, SaanKhya Sutras, 18 Smruthis =
Memansaka

+ Expertize theoritically & Practically all these knowledge and become near to god
