I am pleased to write this recommendation on behalf of Josue Pearson. Over the course of this school year, I
have had the opportunity to work with Mr. Pearson in my role as both a beginning teacher reflective coach and
as a curriculum program specialist.

Josue stands out as an exemplary teacher. In my 13 years in education, I would identify him as one of the best
teacher’s that I have had the opportunity to observe. He is knowledgeable about the content, skilled in
classroom management, and cares deeply about each and every one of his students.

One of the areas that Josue excels in is in lesson development. He is able to craft lessons that are interesting,
relevant, and rigorous. In one of my observations, Josue created a lesson with reading, writing, classroom
discussion, and collaboration all seamlessly woven together within the same class period. Students moved from
activity to activity with almost no fuss or wasted time. They were engaged in the material and the level of
discourse was outstanding.

Another area that Josue stands out is the care and commitment he has for his students. When discussing student
achievement and progress, he is able to speak about the student as a whole person, not just their academic
achievement. He gets to know his students in a way that builds relationships and informs his instruction.
