ABSTRACT
And application Lectora Inspire using audiovisual media because in Lectora inspire,
students can hear and see some tools. For example media drama, movies television,
pictures, text etc.
B. Lectora Inspire
According to Mas'ud (2012:1-2), Lectora Inspire as Authoring Tool to develop
the content of e-learning that developed by Trivantis Corporation. In 1999, Lectora
Inspire was founded by Timothy D. Laudermilk in Cincinnati, Ohio, Amerika.
Lectora Inspire can make online course simple and so quickly. Lectora has 5
achievements in 2011, as Innovation product learning, Authoring Tool, The best
tool presentation, and the best technology of e-learning. In the system of teaching-
learning, PowerPoint is familiar media to present the material. But the fact different
between power point and Lectora Inspire is PowerPoint software is produced to
make the presentation not to became multimedia learning, it different when Lectora
Created to become Multimedia Learning. Even though we can exploit power point
to became interested learning multimedia.
C. Reading Comprehension
Reading Comprehension is the ability to process text, understand its meaning, and to
integrate it with what the reader already knows. Fundamental skills required in efficient
reading comprehension are knowing meaning of words, ability to understand meaning
of a word from discourse context, ability to follow organization of passage and to
identify antecedents and references in it, ability to draw inferences from a passage about
its contents, ability to identify the main thought of a passage, ability to answer questions
answered in a passage, ability to recognize the literary devices or propositional
structures used in a passage and determine its tone, to understand the situational mood
(agents, objects, temporal and spatial reference points, casual and intentional
inflections, etc.) conveyed for assertions, questioning, commanding, refraining etc. and
finally ability to determine writer's purpose, intent and point of view, and draw
inferences about the writer (discourse-semantics). An individual's ability to comprehend
text is influenced by their skills and their ability to process information. If word
recognition is difficult, students use too much of their processing capacity to read
individual words, which interferes with their ability to comprehend what is read. There
are a number of reading strategies to improve reading comprehension and inferences,
including improving one's vocabulary, critical text analysis (intertextuality, actual
events vs. narration of events, etc.) and practicing deep reading
RESEARCH METHOD
a. Research Question
1) How is the process of teaching reading comprehension by using Lectora Inspire?
2) How is the result of assure analysis of the use of Lectora inspire to teach
reading comprehension?
b. Assure Analysis
Assure is an instructional design model that has the goal of producing more
effective teaching and learning. The journal will explore the analysis of the use of
Lectora Inspire with the uses systems assure. Assure in an acronym that stands for
the various steps in the model. The following is a breakdown of each step:
1. Analyze Learners
The first step was taken teachers, for whom the media that suitable to be
applied as learning media. Teachers know the media it is applied where the
teacher will be easier to focus the skills are applied. The information gathered
will help you in the decision with respect to other steps in the process.
2. State Standards and Objectives
After the teacher do where the media was applicable, the teacher then
does the standard achievement or expectation with the use of the application.
By applying the standard of achievement the students in using the application.
For example, the achievement that the students will know many of the
vocabulary words and the students will be able to create or write a sentence.
The objective can easy students to know what to do with the use of media
which teachers give and students will know how the process to achieve the
standard applied by the teacher.
3. Select Strategies, Technology, Media, and Materials
After applying the standard of achievement or expectation by using
media. Next step is to select the strategy what should be taken to achieve
these expectations. As well as select what media to use and what materials
should be used support the media. With the conduct of selections strategy,
media and materials that will be used to support the achievement of the
targeted will facilitate the teacher in providing instruction to students to do
something that is targeted to achieve maximum results.
4. Utilize Technology, Media, and Material
After making the selection of strategy, media and materials the next step is
how to use an application. To guide the students how to use the application,
students will be more familiar and students will be more try to uses these
applications in the classroom or outside the classroom.
5. Require Learner Participation
In this process requires the participation of teachers after giving instructions
to students to use an app to support one of their skills. Then here teacher
checks the students with the methods applied to support one of the skills
owned by providing a feedback if they make a mistake so that no error
repeatedly.
6. Evaluate and Revise
The last step of assure is to give a kind of evaluation and revision in the
use of media in the study. For example, media that is applied in matched or
not is applied in schools already reflected. As well as how that has been
successfully used or not to support one of the abilities of the students.
C.Participants
In this journal is the participation of teachers and Senior High School
students using Lectora Inspire. The teachers follow participants and guide the
students using Lectora Inspire. Finally, the students can use the Lectora Inspire
application correctly and the students increase their reading comprehension using
Lectora Inspire application.
d. Target
The target of the learning that the teacher is applying the students. Students
should be able to improve their vocabulary by using the game-based education is
Lectora Inspire. The expectations of the teacher, the students are more interested
and the spirit of learning by using Lectora Inspire and the vocabulary of the
students to be more.
e. Procedure
First of all the teacher should have the students to download the Lectora
Inspire application on the play store. After that, the students must install the
application. Enrolling students are taught to use the Lectora Inspire application.
Then the students know how to use the teacher must target each student every day
that is must spend one part consisting of any levels.
The use ASSURE analysis can make students eleventh grade in Senior High School
understood about using Lectora to drill their reading skill. Why we choose class
eleven? Because eleven grade class the students can already operate the computer
can already read critically, including a reading of the text.
The Procedure Using Application:
1. The first download the application Lectora Inspire and open the application.
Then will appear to look like below.
2. Click “TEST & SURVEY”
5. Then write your questions in the "QUESTION" column, and the choices are
column underneath. You can choose the answer that you think is right to be the
key answer.
6. You can also give feedback. Check “Enable Feedback” then replace the
feedback that you want. Such as “CORRECT” and “INCORRECT”. Then click
“OK”.
7. Then will appear like this.
8. Then you can run your question. Click “RUN”, so will as display below.
