Related Process in Employee's Provident Fund

Generally, the employee selection/recruitment process in Employee's


Provident Fund accepts the system of the public service commission as a
guideline. These are the employee selection/recruitment process in
Employee's Provident Fund:
i. The human resource management department presents detail
information about the different vacant posts of different level to the
recruitment committee.
ii. The recruitment committee decides the percentages of recruiting
vacant posts according to the article 2.8 of employee terms of
service rule of Employee's Provident Fund. The rule indicates the
internal and external sources that are to be used for selecting
employees in this organization. The rule of deciding percentages of
selection of employees in Employee's Provident Fund is as
follows:

Table 2.3 shows that the allocated number for file promotion in different
areas. Out of total 150 marks, 70 marks is allocated for the employee work
performance, 45 marks is allocated for seniority, 25 marks is allocated for
academic qualification & training and 10 marks is allocated for the working
experiences of geographical area. From the above data, we can see the
weighted percentage for the different bases of file promotion. Out of full
marks (150marks), 30% marks is allocated for the base of seniority, 15.33%
marks for academic qualification, 1.33% marks for training, 6.67% marks
for experience of geographical area and 46.67% marks is allocated for
performance evaluation. Hence, the data shows that the major role will be
played for file promotion of employee by his performance evaluation and
seniority.

The Selection Process by Internal Competition:


This is also known as a kind of promotion system by internal sources.
Internal competition between present working qualified employees will be
held to select. These processes apply for the internal competition. The
process of the internal competition is same from open competition.
a. Advertisement

The notice of the internal competition should be published in its
notice board. The time should be minimum 30 days to submit the
application.
b. Written examination
The written examination is held by the recruitment committee
under the supervision of public service commission.
c. Interview
Interview process should be started within one month of result
published of written examination
d. Recommendation
The recruitment committee should recommend the candidate with
merit basis within 15 days from the completion of interview
process.
e. Appointment letter of promotion
The authorized person should give the appointment letter with job
description to the recommended candidate within 21 days.
