Commonalities of both articulations:

• will be delivered pre-assembled and pre-finished

• the main bearing is designed for product life

• suitable for puller and pusher application

• equipped with multi-step-damping


(HNGK 19.5 could be equipped with comfort damping but is not in use in Brasil)

• using maintenance-free damping system and a hydraulic without


accumulator

• possibility of routing energy lines in the articulation:

Advantages of HNGK 19.5:

• complete cross beams for front car and rear car connection are available

• closed interaction-system

• pitch axis is at the front car


(allows a little increased ground clearance at same floor hight)

• minimum floor height is 398 mm


(min. floor height of SKD 420 is 425 mm)

• redundant hydraulic system

• platform-design is more comfortable for the passengers

Advantages of SKD 420:

• less weight of SKD 420: 611 kg (for articulation, joint beam and platform)
(weight HNGK 19.5: 750 kg)

• max. shaft load is ± 30 kN


(shaft load of HNGK 19.5: ± 25 kN)

• articulation is maintenance free

• platform could be opened more easily

Durability of articulations under consideration of normal service conditions:

• Cast parts of both articulations are designed for a life time of at least 10 years

• Main bearing of both articulations is designed fo a life time of at least 10 years

• Lifetime of Metal-Rubber Bearings of both articulations is for the European


market comparable,
in general this lifetime depends strongly on the shaft load of the articulation as
well as the distance profile
HÜBNER expects a comparable lifetime also for the Brasilian market

• Hydraulic unit of the articulation SKD 420 will be more resistant in comparison
to the articulation HNGK 19.5
hydraulic unit is integrated in the cast structure for SKD 420

• Hydraulic system of articulation HNGK 19.5 is designed redundant

• Hydraulic system of articulation SKD 420 and HNGK 19.5 is not pre-
pressurized
less maintenance requirements
less loads for the system
