Abstract

This investigation was commissioned by Ms. Viola Ramphal-Choo, Managing

director of Viola’s Business Support Services

Staff records show that approximately 34 percent of employees have submitted

medical certificates for work-related injuries and illness over the past calendar year.

These medical conditions include tendonitis, carpal; tunnel syndrome, pain in the

upper, middle and lower back, acute eye strain and debilitating head aches.

This investigation seeks to determine the extent of which work place condition and

practices have contributed to worker illness and injury. It does not seek to prove or

disprove
