Reflection

(Sound /p/)

I tough a lesson about letter ‘P’, the students can recognize the letter and the sound of the
letter ‘P’, and to identify at least two words start with this letter. In this lesson I prepared four
activities, the first activity was a lacing or weaving the letter ‘p. It was for the high level, and
many students can not complete it very well, so I was assist them to do this activity. This activity
it does not went well because it was too hard for most of them. The second activity, all the
students were enjoying and they were enthusiastic to do it again and more because they must use
the playdough to make the letter ‘P’. Moreover, this activity went well because the students like
the playdough and everybody can do this activity, also because they express them self by using
the color they want. In the third activity, the students should make a pizza, the thing that did not
went well was that I did not tell them that let imagine that the red circle is a peperone, white
rectangle: cheese, black oval: olive, and green square: paprika. But some students imagine that
the pizza like a face, so they were creativity to make the pizza as they want. In addition, I
documented their work by hanged up their pizza in the class on a rope. In Reggio Emilia, the
documentation is about what the students are doing, grasping and learning, and the product of
their work or the activity is a reflection of interaction between the teacher and the students, and
between the students and other students. The final activity is find the letter. This activity helps
the students to build their cognitive awareness to find the letter. It went well because the students
like to explore and to find things. The strength of this lesson is that I make a differentiation
activities, the students were engaging and excited, most of the time were the students doing the
activity, also they were paining attention and they were interaction with me and with the
activities (the whole lesson).
