Professional Development Plan

(What do YOU need to work on to grow professionally?)

1. Choose and describe an aspect from a teaching competency that you need to work on (Goal)
- Classroom management.
- Using my teacher voice, speak clearly and loudly (not screaming).

2. Describe what you will do to help achieve your goal (Strategies Used)
- I will use the “classdojo” site and this site helps you add all the student’s name and you can give or take
away points from each students depending on what they do, if they behave and did well in the class they
gets points and if they misbehave like playing around when the teacher is teaching they will lose points.

3. Describe how you can tell if you’re achieving your goal (Evidence)
- I can tell by observing the student’s behaviour, by listening to MST and MCT feedback and see how much
did they understand by asking questions.

Grade Level: Subject: Learning Outcome (ADEC code and words):

- Students will identify the concept of more, less
Kg 2 Math (More, Less or Equal) and equal.
- Students will represent and determine amounts
of objects, when they are put together, taken
away, and numbers that are one more or one
less than a given number.
Resources (what materials/equipment will you and the Preparation (what do you need to make or check
students use? Be specific) before class?)

- Smart Board - Make sure the smart board and the laptop
works.
- Laptop
- Make sure that all the materials are
- More, Less and Equal signs available.
- Hello song/ songs related to the lesson. Key vocabulary
- Classdojo site “to manage student’s - Compare
behaviour”
- Write
- Stick “to point”
- Listen
- Worksheet “group activity”
- Repeat
- Classroom Rules
- Watch
- Chocolate “as a reward”
- Crayons and pencils
Introduction (warmer activity + teacher active engagement)

I will start the lesson by greeting the students , playing the hello song, then I will introduce the class dojo for
them and tell them that if they behave they will get points and if not they will lose some point till the end of
the lesson, and by the end of the lesson I will reward those who have good points with giving them chocolate
“which is allowed” and sign their cards (students have cards that when the teacher sign for them they get to
buy something for free from the school for example if they had twenty signs by the end of the day of them
collecting the cards they will be able to buy a small book with a pencil depends on how many signs they get)
after introducing the class dojo, we will say the class rules together.

Then to start the lesson I will ask five students to come in front, I will divide them into two groups 3 students
on the left side and 2 students on the other side, I will ask the students which group has more and which group
has less, then I will tell them that this group has more students than the other group and the other group has
less students than the first group, I will give students another example by using the pencils and crayons. I will
show the students a video that explains the subject and each time they give example on the video I’ll pause it
Time: 15 min

and ask the students to answer before the answer is giving in the video, after that I will ask the students to
show me the signs where is more “greater” where is less “fewer” and equal “same”. I’ll play another video
Whole

that includes comparing and I will let the students compare between the objects.

Independent Experience (small group activity 1) HOTS questions:

Group activity: students in each group will be given a Which group has the greater object?
worksheet that has different objects and comparing,
they will have to circle the most from each group and Where do we draw the “more” sign?
draw the sign in the middle.

Independent Experience (small group activity 2) HOTS questions:

Individual: each student will be given a worksheet, How many should you draw to have more than 5/3?
the worksheet include three parts, first they have draw
more objects than the ones given, 2nd they have to How many should you draw to have less than 10/6?
draw less objects than the given one, and the last part
they have to colour three more circles than the ones
given.

Independent Experience (small group activity 3) HOTS questions:

Individual or whole class: students will be working on How many should you draw to have less/ more?
their math book, they will have questions about the
subject taken, some students will do it by themselves
since they are able to and other students will do it with
the teacher (I) or (MST) help.

I will close the lesson by asking the students what did we learn today, let them give me an example.
