Course Description:
This course introduces students to special topics related to financial reporting with emphasis on
recognition and measurement of assets and liabilities. It focuses on the analysis of a range if
contemporary accounting issues within theoretical frameworks such as agency theory and from
the perspective of the conceptual framework used in setting accounting standards. This course
comprehensively covers international financial reporting standards relevant to reporting
problems.

The primary objectives of the course are to provide students with:

Attendance:
You are expected to regularly attend classes. These form an integrated presentation of topics,
with each week drawing and building upon the work of previous weeks. Failing to keep up to
date with the material will place you at a significant disadvantage.
