EPC 2903 Primary Lesson Planning Template Year 2, Sem 2


Grade Level: 1
Subject: English
Learning Outcome: By the end of this lesson students will know the different between the capital letters and
small letters. Also, they will know to start the sentences with capital letter and end the sentences with full stop
or question mark and they will be able to write sentences.
Resources Preparation (what do you need to do/make before
PowerPoint class?)
Worksheets Prepare the materials and divide the students in groups.
Pencils In the whiteboard I will write:
Coloring pens Day and date
Glues I will put the worksheets in the middle of the tables for each
Baskets group.
Small circles ( with letters) I will stack one paper under each group. ( one to two word in
Pictures of flowers each paper)
Pictures of bug Key vocabulary/ Target Language
Pictures of bee
Picture of tree Capital letters
Picture of candy machine Small letters

Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)


1- Ask the students about the day and date.
I will ask the students to guess what is our lesson today, then I will ask one from each group to take the paper (
under the tables) and read it and stick it in the board.
Then it will be a full sentence so I will ask all the class to read it. ( 5 min)
Time: 15 min

After that:
1- I will show them the LO. ( (in PowerPoint)
2- I will start to show them the different between the capital letters and small letters.
3- I will ask them: what do you need when you make a sentence? / What you need at the beginning? /
What you need at the end?
4- Then I will explain for them that we need capital letter at the beginning and full stop or question mark at
the end, I will give them some examples and ask them to give me examples.
1- I will ask the students to take one worksheet and one pencil.
2- Then I will tell them to point at the first question and I will ask all the class to read the
questions at the same time. ( I will explain for them each question)
3- After that, they will answer the questions.
 If the students finish early:

I prepare 5 different activities about the letter and matching the capital letters with the small

letters. (All the 5 activity is about matching the letters but each group will have different
designing).
All the 5 activity has the same instruction which is:

The students should see if the letter is capital they should to search about the small one
and stick it to gather. (All the students should work because there are more than 7
letters)
After they done they can write word or sentences (I can move this part to the next class)

Reflection WWW/EBI

This class was wonderful all the activities was nice and exacted. All the students work in the second activity they like it
because it was colorful. But I think it will be better if I do an quick activity for sentences such as write sentences or re
order the words to get a sentence.

Next Steps in learning and teaching


In the next plan I will try to do more writing activities and some activities need more work because the students was
finishing before the time.
