Instruction for data analysis:

Descriptive Analysis
Objective 1: To investigate contextual tax awareness of public and private
university students
What to do: Classify questionnaires into 2 groups: public university students and private
university students.
For question 1, Draw pie chart and find mode for each group separately
For question 2, Draw pie chart for each group. Find mean, median, mode separately (Strongly
disagree=1……….strongly agree=5). Do the same for question 3 and 4.

Objective 2: To differentiate ethical tax awareness of public and private university


students
What to do: Classify questionnaires into 2 groups: public university students and private
university students.
For question 5, Draw pie chart for each group and Find mean, median, mode separately (Strongly
disagree=1……….strongly agree=5). Do the same for question 6-12

Objective 3: To identify best possible measure to increase fairness in tax payment


What to do: Classify questionnaires into 2 groups: public university students and private
university students.
For question 13, Draw pie chart for each group and Find mode separately
Inferential Analysis
1. Those who think “Collected tax is properly used for Govt. service” believe
“Everyone pays their due tax in time”
Classify questionnaires into 2 groups: public university students and private university students.
Consider response to question 3 as independent variable and response to question 4 as
dependent variable. Run regression and correlation for 2 groups separately

2. Those who think “Tax evasion is ethical if a large portion of money collected is
wasted” find it justified to cheat tax if tax payer get any chance.
Classify questionnaires into 2 groups: public university students and private university students.
Consider response to question 9 as independent variable and response to question 8 as
dependent variable. Run regression and correlation for 2 groups separately
