18. Other Activities.

a. Director, M&A Dte, CWC, Shimla accompanied to Chief Engineer (IBO), CWC,
Chandigarh for visit to AIBP funded Balh Velly ( Left Bank), Medium Irrigation
Project, Beas Sutlej Link Canal (BSL) and Largi HEP from 07.03.2017 and
08.03.2017 in District Mandi (H.P).

b. As, MOWR, RD & GR, Govt. of India is organizing mass awareness programs
Water Conservation in tribal populated States/ UTs under Sub- Plan of IEC.
Under this programme, a one day Orientation Workshop on Water
Conservation has been organized by CWC, Shimla at Reckong Peo, District (HQ)
of Kinnaur District (which is one of the tribal populated District of State of
Himachal Pradesh) on 17th March,2017.The said workshop was attended by
Gram Pradhans/BDOs/ Representatives from NGOs, Krishak Vikas Sanghs,
School Children, Central/ State Govt.officials of concerned Departments from
nearby areas.
c. Director, M&A Dte, CWC, Shimla attended entry conference on Sehemes for
Flood Control and Flood Protection on 21st March, 2017 at 3.00 PM in office of
the Pr.Accountant General (Audit), Himachal Pradesh, Shimla.

d. Director, M&A Dte, CWC, Shimla attended Sate Lavel Jal Abhiyan launched
on 22 March,2017 in NBARD, Regional Office H.P at 10.30 AM on the eve of
World Water Day. Director, M&A also gave brieging as Role of CWC regarding
Water Conservation Activities.

e. Under the instructions of MOWR, RD & GR for cleaning of water bodies in the
area was initiated by the Regional Office of CWC, Shimla, I& PH Department,
Shimla and Municipal Corporation, Shimla participated in the Swachhata
Activity carried out at Ashwani Khad area near Water Treatment Plant at Shimla
on 23.03.2017, This Water Treatment Plant is being maintained and operated
by Municipal Corporation, Shimla. The participating Members cleaned the area
at Ashwani Khad and picked up plastic waste, bottles and other waste material
thrown in the river and near river bank area with help of equipments/ brooms
etc. and cleaned the area of about 200 mtrs. near Water Treatment Plant.
Director, M&A Dte, CWC, Shimla in his address to the gathering explained the
motto bhind this cleaning drive.

f. This Director, M&A Dte, Executive Engineer and Assistant Executive

Engineer, SHD, CWC, Shimla attended Half day Awareness Raising Workshop on
National Hydrology Project (NHP) at Hotel Holiday Home, Shimla on 25th March,
 2017 at 10: 30 AM onwards. The Hon’ble I&PH Minister, Govt of Himachal
Pradesh inaugurated the workshop. Director, CWC, Shimla gave a PowerPoint
presentation on “ Role of CWC in Flood Monitoring & Hydrological observations
in Himachal Pradesh”.

Important Activities for the month of January, 2013 ( 25/12/2012 to 24/01/2013)

3. Project Monitoring

a) Director and Assistant Director , M&A Dte., CWC, Shimla monitored the following scheme
under FMP and under AIBP on 8 /01/2013.

i) Soan khad Flood Protection scheme under FMP in Tehsil Sarkaghat, District Mandi
(H.P).
 ii) 3 MI Schemes under AIBP (Shelf of 181 Schemes) in Tehsil Sarkaghat, District Mandi
(H.P).

b) Director and Assistant Director, M&A Dte., CWC, Shimla monitored 3 Nos demonstrations
sites in district Solan and Sirmour on 11/01/13 and 2 Nos demonstrations sites in district
Kangra on 20/1/13 under Farmers Participatory Action Research Programme ( FPARP) of
MoWR under Y.S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry , Nauni , District Solan.

c) Director and Assistant Director, M&A Dte., CWC, Shimla monitored the following
Projects/Schemes under AIBP/General Monitoring from 18/01/2013 to 22/01/2013.

i) Phina Singh Medium Irrigation Project in Tehsil Nurpur, District Kangra (H.P) on 20/1/13

ii) Shahnehar Major Irrigation Project under AIBP in District Kangra (H.P) on 21/1/13

iii) Sidhatha Medium Irrigation Project under AIBP in District Kangra (H.P) on 21/1/13

iv) MI Schemes under AIBP (Shelf of 181 Schemes) in District Kangra (H.P) on 18/1/13
and 19/1/13

9. Innovation/ Modernization in WR Sector.

Director, M&A Dte., CWC, Shimla participated in the training on “Satellite based monitoring
of AIBP Projects using BHUVAN Web services” at NRSC, Hyderabad during 26-29
December, 2012.

10. Representation of CWC Officers.

Director M&A Dte., CWC, Shimla attended a meeting called by Joint Secretary (HR
Division), Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi in her Chamber on December 27 th,
2012 at 3.00 PM. to finalized the report of Central Team in connection of visit to
Himachal Pradesh for an on the spot assessment of the damage in the wake of flash
flood/ landslide/cloudburst during 2012.
