Basic Functions

1.1 Client Log in&out

Purpose

To log in and log out the client

Procedure

1. Log in

Click Start → All programs → NetNumen Unified Management System →

NetNumen Client:

Enter the user name, password and server address, then click OK.

2. Log out

Click the main menu: System→Exit:

Click OK to exit.

The initial interface after log in to EMS:

1.2 Log in to NE management

Purpose

To log in to NE management

Procedure

1. In the main menu, under Configuration, click NE management.

2. Then click Start NE Management to activate.

3. Choose Configuration Management to start configuration on NE.

1.3 Cell Status Query

Purpose

To check the status of each cell

Procedure

1. In NE Management, right click and choose Dynamic Management

2. Choose one site, search ‘query cell status’ as shown below, and double click.

3. Click Run, and the detailed status are shown below:

1.4 Alarm mornitoring

Purpose

Monitor the alarm for all sites

Procedure

1. Through main menu, Fault→Alarm Monitoring, and click

2. The alarms are shown as below:

3. Double click one alarm, the detailed information can be shown.

1.5 Apply for mutex right

Purpose

To apply for the right to operate

Procedure

1. Choose one eNodeB, right click to find Apply for Mutex Right.

Result

If this symbol appears in front of eNodeB, it menas that the Metux Right is given.

1.6 Basic parameter checking

Purpose

To check some basic parameters, such as RS Power, subframe configuration,

special subframe configuration and PCI.

Procedeure

1. Under Configuration management, choose E-UTRAN TDD Cell.

2. Choose one cell and double click.

3. RS Power, subframe configuration, special subframe configuration and PCI are

shown as below. Click Edit to modify the parameters.

But please pay attention: We are not allowed to modify one parameter without
permission.

1.7 Neighbor Relation Configuration

Purpose

To add neighbor relations between cells

Procedure

Below is an example only:

1. Under Configuration Management, click Neighbor Cell Management.

2. In Neighbor Cell Management, choose 10441 as Source eNodeB, and click

Mutex Management.

3. Choose 11921 as Neighbor eNodeB, and click Mutex Management.

4. Click to find the configurable neighbor relation between these two sites.

5. Choose the relation needs to be configured and click Add Selected Record.

6. If a confirm dialog box comes out, click Yes.

1.8 Data Synchronization

Purpose

After modifying parameters, synchronization is needed.

Procedure

1. Click Configuration management ->Data Synchronization.

2. Choose the Network Element and the synchronization mode. Usually the first
one, Synchronize modified data.

3. Click Synchronize and enter the code in the next following dialog box.
