CLASSROOM PROCEDURES
 Bring SUPPLIES EVERY DAY:
– 3 sharpened pencils w/ erasers;
red pen
– Notebook paper
– Covered textbook
– 3-ring binder; 5 dividers
– Calculator (for some classes)
 Sharpen pencils BEFORE
CLASS BEGINS
 Be in your seat, ready to
work, working on the warm-
warm-
up, when the bell rings
 Raise your hand to speak or
leave your seat

 HOMEWORK:
– Assigned at end of each class period
– Finish PRIOR to start of next class
– Turn in after correcting in class
 WARM-
WARM-UPS (BELL WORK):
– Daily; Done at beginning of period as
soon as bell rings
– Turn in last day of class each week
 PARTICIPATION (CITIZENSHIP GRADE):
– Based on attendance, tardies,
tardies, supplies,
and group work
– Points lost when procedure not followed
 MAKE-
MAKE-UP WORK:
– Allowed only for EXCUSED ABSENCES
– Must be turned in within 2 days
 TESTS / QUIZZES:

 HOMEWORK: 30% of grade
 WARM-
WARM-UPS: 10% of grade
 QUIZZES, REVIEWS: 15% of grade
 EXAMS: 45% of grade
 Semester Grade:
– 45% of Quarter 1 grade
– 45% of Quarter 2 grade
– 10% of Semester Exam grade

STUDENT COMMUNICATION

 Student letter given 1st day of class


 New grades for the current quarter
will be posted each week by
student number in the classroom
 Positive feedback given to each
student at least once per week
 Students take home progress
reports every three weeks that
parents must sign and return
 Individual student conferences a
minimum of once per month

PARENT COMMUNICATION
 Letter sent out to parents at start of school
 Parents receive rules, procedures, and
expectations forms first week of school; sign &
return to teacher
 Parents must sign progress reports that students
take home once every three weeks and make
comments on the report to share with the
teacher
 Parent phone conferences a minimum of once per
month with positive feedback

No Child Left Behind
 Teachers must be highly qualified in their
subject area (18 to 24 college credits directly
in the subject) to teach that subject
 I have over 60 credits in Mathematics and
over 40 credits of education coursework and
am highly qualified for Math and Computers
