Educational uses of the Evernote:
Teachers:

● Organize your lesson plan: Teachers can put all their notes, outlines,
research, etc.
● They can start working on a lesson plan at home then continue working at
school.
● They can tag lesson plans with specific topics or subjects to make calling
them up the next school year.
● They can use Evernote to collect and organize information, notes, lesson
plans, resources to use in their class.

10
Educational uses of the Evernote:
Students:

● Students can use Evernote to collect data from the web, take notes in
class, organize their work, and collaborate on projects, create task lists,
etc.

11
Samples of possible practices of this tool in
education:
● Coordinate Projects: To get students on the same page and keep them
on task, a teacher can create a specific list of tasks related to a given
project in Evernote. That list appears on students’ computers and devices,
and as they accomplish each task, they label it “done”. This label is
instantly viewable on the teacher’s app, making it easy to determine how
groups or students are progressing.
● Facilitate ‘Reaction’ Assignments: Asking student to share their
reactions provides great writing practice, and Evernote can instantly
collect those reactions. Using the multiple-device syncing function,
encourage students to pen their reactions to a guest speaker or
classmate’s presentation.

13
Strengths of Evernote
● Connects to many other web based tools as well as various hardware

● Allows for sharing and collaboration among groups

● Capture screenshots using your iPad or iPhone, so you can capture

photographs

● Use the Page Camera to keep handwritten notes in your Evernote

notebook

14
Limitations of the Evernote
● It is not compatible with all cell phones and computers ... but is adding

capability all the time.

● The standard (free) version has a monthly upload allowance of 60MB.

● The standard (free) version is limited to the types of files that can be

uploaded.

● The standard (free) version cannot search within PDFs.

15
Limitations of the Evernote
● In order to capture and store some things you must take a picture of it

first. This assumes that everyone has a digital camera and is able to

upload images.

● Their privacy policy gives them the rights to your content, which means

any original writing, photos, etc. becomes theirs.

● Others can edit or delete your notes-many customers have complained

about lost notes.

16
● Formatting has been an issue (especially on the iPad).
