project during PhD
i. Project Title: Lab-scale hydraulic fracture studies of reservoirs with an emphasis on
pore fracture geometry studies by developing fracture proppants and Microseismic
estimations: Phase I, R&D topic: funded by OIL India, Duliajan, Assam
Overall funding: $75,384
Deliverables:
Design and development of new hydraulic fracturing equipment for Indian scenario.
Generating high resolution 3 component single point seismograms in a core sample
in various directions of travel using Laser Doppler Vibrometer. Estimating of
3
probable weak plane geometries in the core sample with Laser Doppler Vibrometer
and tensor analysis study for anisotropic characterization of the core sample. Real
time fracture detection from microseismic data using piezoelectric transducers
during fracturing process. Pump different class of proppants for conductive
microfractures during hydraulic fracturing and improve the efficiency in recovering.
