SUGGESTED LETTER
TO: Senator XXX
Chief of Staff XXX
RE: The GRACE Act sponsorship, Bill S-2471
Dear Senator XXX and Chief of Staff XXX:
As your constituent, I want to express my wish that you CO-SPONSOR the Granting Release and
Compassion Effectively (GRACE) Act S-2471 Bill.
This bill will help stop the deaths of elderly and terminally ill people in prison waiting
extraordinarily lengthy periods of time for compassionate release approval by the BOP, including
someone I know personally. I know that this bill could grant him the ability to bring his
Compassionate Release Petition straight to the court and request a judgment to be released.
Many U.S Senators have already co-sponsored the GRACE Act for their states and understand
that we need this change to better treat terminally ill and elderly inmates.
I am among supporters like Families Against Mandatory Minimums(FAMM), CAN-DO Clemency,
Human Rights Watch, ACLU and Drug Policy Alliance in believing the GRACE Act can change lives
and our country for the better.
Thank you for acting on my request.
Very truly yours,
A Diligent Voter,
