PALS assessments have begun and will continue into the next two weeks.
**Please be on the lookout for the little readers that have been sent home over the past couple of
months. There are several books missing which then makes sets incomplete.
Math:
We have been introduced to 3 of the 4 coins. We compared the sizes and colors. We traded pennies for a nickel and a dime. Next week,
we will work on identifying the quarter and trading it for pennies. We will continue to work equations with sums up to 10. We will also work
on ten frames but making teen numbers with them.
SNAP assessments have begun and will continue into the next couple of weeks.
Science:
During our content block, we have been discussing maps and globes. We compared the two together. We made a list of parts of a map
(symbols, map key/legend, and compass rose). We labeled our room with the cardinal directions: north, south, east, and west. We
enjoyed the mnemonic device Never Eat Soggy Waffles! We compared things from the side view and bird’s eye view. We compared how
those views look different. We mapped out our classroom. Next week we will continue to work with maps.
