4. Activity Description- The participants will form a circle, or a line and one person will
initiate by whispering a sentence or phrase to the next person in line and it will continue
until the message gets to the end of the line. At the end, the final person will say the
ending sentence and the first person will have to explain if the sentence came out correct
or not. Usually, the sentence is way off and allows participants to have some fun with the
game. This game encourages participants to be attentive and requires memory to get the
full sentence down the line without changing it. This game also encourages socialization
amongst participants.
5. Primary interaction pattern(s) (activity analysis) – Explain why you chose the pattern or
patterns you chose. The primary interaction of this activity is intragroup because it
requires communication amongst participants to reach a common goal. I chose this
interaction pattern, so the participants can socialize with each other.
6. Adaptation: This activity can be adapted for individuals who have a past medical history
of a stroke and experience aphasia. Instead of using verbal language to communicate with
fellow participants they can use facial expressions instead. This will be achieved the same
way as the original activity just substituting the communication form. The group will
close their eyes and the first individuals will start by making a facial expression and
showing the next person and they will mimic it and pass it down the line and the person
at the end will show the class the last facial expression and see if its anything like the
beginning one. This adapted activity could assist the individual in conveying messages
and feelings with alternative means of communication.
