DECIDING ON LIFE AND DEATH

We're often not aware that we daily deal

with a dilemma, we prefer to conceal:

indirectly, we’re forced to decide

which human or animal should stay alive
and which are those who have to die
We prefer not to be involved directly
but are by voting or by purchases in stores
If the drama doesn’t affect us personally,
the big dilemma is usually ignored

But what if the responsibility is directly yours:

that you have to select who should survive

and who, as result of what you decide,
is deemed to be doomed and sacrificed ?
Which values and rules would then prevail
when you have to take the decision?
Will love weigh more than responsibility
and matter weigh more than compassion?
