○ Question 1: Why did the pet club say “No elephants allowed”?

○ Question 2: Were any of our predictions correct?

○ Question 5: How can you make sure to not exclude a particular person or

people?

● Activity- After writing their reflections in their notebooks and discussing those reflections

with the students at their table, students will use a sheet of paper and coloring utensils to

draw/create their own pet. Pet can be a real animal or something completely made up.

After they are finished, they will discuss how their pets can all be friends even though

they have differences in their appearance.

Evaluation: Teacher reads the student’s literacy notebook entries for the day to check for

accuracy of relating the story to real life.
