Performed comprehensive assessments and provided nursing care for adults requiring medical-surgical/telemetry
care/monitoring
Titrated and managed heparin drips
Interpreted electrocardiograms
Effectively communicated and worked with interdisciplinary team

WORK EXPERIENCE
SAVAHCS (August 2017 - present)
Student Nurse Technician
Perform nursing assistant skills including vitals, observations, reporting, patient care, and documentation.
Assist with ADLs and perform electrocardiograms and blood glucose tests.
Currently float to a variety of units including: telemetry, med-surg, ICU, step down, ED, rehab, and clinical
decision unit.
VALOR Externship- SAVAHCS (May 2017 - August 2017)
Surgical Clinic Preceptorship (400 hours)
Worked on a Surgical Clinic with various specialties including: Ear, Nose, and Throat, General, Cardio,
Orthopedic, Podiatry, and Urology.
Assisted surgeons with various outpatient surgical procedures including: endoscopies, biopsies, vasectomies, and
mass removal, among others. In addition, provided post-procedure nursing education.
Presented a Quality Improvement project regarding case management of head and neck cancers to managers at the
VA and helped develop and implement a flowsheet designed to keep track of the various cases to ensure
continuity of care and prevent losses to follow up care.
