 Arabic is the sixth most spoken language in the world.


 Arabic is the official language of many countries in the Middle
East.
 Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is the modern counterpart of
Classical Arabic.
 The Arabic alphabet comprises of 28 letters, written from right to
left.
 The place where the sound of a letter originates from is called
the Makhraj.
 Vocabulary:

 The Adjectival phrase in the Arabic Language:


An adjectival phrase is formulated by stating the noun and then providing a
suitable adjective that matches the noun in gender.

Example: The small boy َََََََ Al Walad Al Sagheer َ ‫ا َ ْل َولَد ال‬

Example: (a) Small girl َََََََBint Sagheerah َ ‫ب ْنت‬

 The Nominal Sentence:

The nominal sentence in Arabic comprises of a subject (noun or pronoun)


and a predicate.
The subject is usually definite and the predicate can take various forms.
Example:

The boy is tall.

Example:

The girl is in the school

 The Preposition:
The preposition in Arabic is placed before a noun (or pronoun) and
makes it genitive.
Prepositions:

In Fee َ‫ف ْي‬

To Ilā ‫إلَى‬

Example:

The student is in the classroom

Al Ṭālib(u) Fee Al Faṣl(i)
