TODAY’S HIGHLIGHT: CRUDE PALM OIL FUTURES, DAILY CANDLESTICK & 5-YEAR CYCLE – AN ANNUAL RALLY
The correction from MYR3,202 high may have bottomed out at MYR2,425. With the candles climbing back
above the “Ichimoku Cloud”, we believe the short-term trend is now bullish. The improving technical
landscape is also supported by positive readings in both Aroon and Stochastic indicators. Looking at the chart,
crude palm oil futures may be heading towards MYR2,810 soon. Based on our cycle count, the current uptrend
could still last awhile longer. The latest run-up only lasted about nine weeks vs. the previous four rallies which
lasted between 23 and 32 weeks. Note that the current up-cycle will need to hold on above MYR2,500 to keep
the bulls going.
