Affordable, easy-to-use iSCSI RAID arrays for IP SANs

Simpler Network Storage: Nimbus IP Storage Appliances High-performance IP SAN in Minutes

The Nimbus IPS series is a family of Gigabit Ethernet-based storage appliances The Nimbus IPS series is incredibly easy to deploy and operate thanks to its
based on the native iSCSI standard. Nimbus storage appliances connect to your appliance design, multiple front-panel status LEDs, and comprehensive built-in
existing Ethernet network, providing reliable, high-performance data storage that software. Using the Nimbus SAN Manager software embedded in the IPS
can be shared among multiple servers and PCs within minutes. It enables appliance, IT personnel can remotely administer and monitor every aspect of the
departments, SMBs, and remote offices to rapidly implement a robust SAN system using a web browser. Management could not be simpler. The IPS series
solution to reduce storage administration costs, increase capacity utilization, and also offers excellent performance, delivering near wire-speed Gigabit Ethernet
improve data availability. The Nimbus IPS series is the ideal foundation for throughput (approximately 119MB/sec) in RAID 5 configurations. As a native
email, file, and web server consolidation, clustering, disaster recovery, disk-to- iSCSI storage target, the Nimbus appliance provides a complete IP SAN out-of-
disk backup, and other applications. the-box and the added assurance of open standards-based technology.

The IPS series features four lockable drive bays, each housing a 7,200rpm ATA
Key Features hard disk drive with 8MB cache, and dual-redundant, hot-swappable power
All-in-one appliance provides the simplest and most affordable supplies. The system supports RAID 0, 1, and 5, as well as one hot-spare and hot-
solution for deploying a SAN swappable hard drives. The IPS series provides two ports on the rear of the
chassis: a 10/100 RJ-45 management port and a 1000-TX Gigabit Ethernet port
Installs in minutes with the industry's lowest TCO for iSCSI traffic.

The Nimbus IPS series provides industry-leading performance,
management port, provides intuitive IP SAN management
delivering near wire-speed throughput over standard IP networks.
Certified for Windows 2000/XP/2003 and Linux
Proven Interoperability and Cost Savings
The Nimbus IP SAN is a fraction of the cost of
leading Fibre Channel SANs. It is designed to work in
conjunction with best-of-breed networking hardware
(including Cisco, 3Com, Foundry, Extreme, NetGear),
backup software (including Veritas, CA, Tivoli,
Legato, CommVault), and Gigabit Ethernet NICs
(including Intel, 3Com, QLogic, Adaptec) to provide a cohesive, pre-tested and
interoperable solution to customers. The Nimbus IPS series has also been
certified and approved by Microsoft for use with Windows 2000, XP, and 2003
Delivering networked RAID storage accessible via Gigabit Ethernet, Nimbus through its WHQL certification program.
iSCSI appliances provide the most affordable, easiest to use IP SAN solution. Since the Nimbus IPS series connects over IP and uses the proven reliability of
TCP, customers do not need to fear interoperability issues or bear the cost of
deploying brand new networks, host bus adapters, or host-based software. When
remote access or data replication to a second site is required, the Nimbus solution
truly shines. Since it is based on IP, the Nimbus appliance is instantly accessible
over the Internet using built-in secure authentication - no new routers or
tunneling devices are required. Traditional firewall and VPN solutions
complement Nimbus solutions to provide proven access protection.
