Solutions:
The teacher will review to students how they can make difference between adding fraction
and composite fraction.
The teacher should remained students about the classroom rules.
Lesson Schedule
Targeted teacher language:
The teacher explaining the main concept and her instructions for the activities.
Student’s interactions for answering the activities and using Math language.
After that, the teacher will give each group a spinner that has different numbers and a worksheet so
students should retain the spinner and from that they will solve the addition operation. Students in groups
will train the pinner and solve the addition operation and write the answers on the paper (5 min).
Then, the teacher will model in the board two examples about how to subtract fractions by using UAE
moneys because subtracting and adding the fractions have same steps but the operations is different.
Then the teacher will give each group small ball that have subtracting operation and one small board and
students in groups will solve the operation on the small board. Then students will open their book page
603 and solve questions from 1 to 4 (10 min)
After that, the teacher will review in the board how to make the improper fractions to mixed numbers the
teacher will say ( If we are converting from improper fractions to mixed number we should put the
denominator the same and think about the products of multiplications and then we write the factor on
the left side and we think what is the reminder to reach to the nominator and we write the number). The
teacher will model two examples in the board. Then, the teacher will give each group a box that shaped
like a happy face and it contains three questions about how to make the improper fractions to mixed
numbers. After that, students will open their textbooks page 603 and solve questions from 5 to 8 (10 min).
