TECHNOLOGY AND PRACTICES

I am currently in my last semester of school and will have my Master's in School Library/Media in
December as well as my online teaching endorsement. I hold a GA teaching certificate that is
current. Through my coursework, I have learned how to implement technology to improve
teaching and learning in a classroom setting as well as a library setting. I have embraced the
idea of the librarian as a teacher-librarian-- a librarian working collaboratively with teachers to
facilitate learning. The librarian should create an environment where students have access to
books, information, and technology, where they can enjoy these things in a responsible way.

I am skilled in various Web 2.0 tools and how to implement them into teaching and learning. I
am also familiar with Wordpress-- how to build and maintain a Wordpress site as well as many
other tools that teachers and students can use to collaborate and communicate their
knowledge.
