An American Philosopher, John Dewy particular articulates, “education is not preparation for life;

education is life itself.” Thus to you, graduates of S.Y 2017-2018, savor the delight of this life’s
celebration, your Graduation.

Having triumphantly survived the journey of secondary education is a great accomplishment. The trail
might have been difficult to sojourn, yet your determination to overcome it is to taste the fruit of your
labor. As you momentarily face the center stage of achievement, keep in mind and in your heart the
values and competencies you’ve won over to prepare yourselves for life’s challenges ahead making
you relevant to the community you serve. This is, indeed the promise of K to 12 education – produce
holistically developed individuals who are globally competitive but locally grounded. For this
division, DepEd Northern Samar, we continuously sing out our earnest conviction to soar high for

teachers toiled in the name of quality service. Coupled with your parents’ careful stewardship, we
hope all these efforts are sufficient for you to soar high in the next stage of your journey.

As you begin another chapter of your life, head on, go to the distance, grow and thrive wherever you
are planted. And while there are many opportunities waiting for you, keeping on dreaming big
