Nefthali’s Community Paper

A community is where you belong and what you are part of. The communities I belong to
are Mexico, Matehuala . My home, My grandpa’s house, and Riis Park. The community I feel
most part of is Mexico, Matehuala. I feel part of this community because that is part of nationally
and also where my family came from. Being part of Mexico, Matehuala affects the decisions that
I make and who I am.

The racial and ethnic in Matehuala is that their are mostly Mexicans living there. It’s in
Mexico. The population of Mexico is ​113,423,047 (​Author:Unknown Article Title: Total

The gender ​statistics​ in Mexico is their are 57,490,006, and for males there are
55,933,041. I couldn’t find anything that represent with Matehuala because it is a small place
where basically everyone knows you. Like you're part of a community. (​Author:Unknown

The economic status in Matehuala is the mobility movement is pretty high on looking or
on employment. There are 1929 people unoccupied. 62,033 people have access ​to one of the
social security systems in Mexico. Lots of people need health insurance because their are 15046
people. The community have many married couples and with this their are many children who
live in Matehuala but not many children go to school because they are poor and don’t have any

There was a leader in this community who was ​Edgar Morales Perez. He was shot but I

But let us not get sad shall we. There are a few places that are fun to be in and I have
visited all of them. There is the Las Palmas (The Palms) where their are lots of plants and look
like a desert. Another place is Real de Catorce (The Real 14). That place they say is a ghost town
where you enter through a tunnel. Cerdal and Villa de La Paz (The land of Peace). They are
both churches where people visit mostly on sundays (​Author: Unknown, Article Title: Interesting

The community I feel most close to is my family relatives in Matehuala because everyone
knows you and they have wonderful places to explore (especially Real De Catorce). This
community makes you feel you are part of something and my family have always been part of it,
and I have only started.
The decisions I made that affected my community members is I talk to my family
relatives and helped them in need. When I helped them, it made my family relatives feel special
like they are part of the family, and start helping me too.
During my summer vacations. Visiting here it made me feel like I knew everyone in
Matehuala and the places I have visit in Matehuala meant a lot to other people around my
community. The specific experiences in Matehuala have made me who I am because from the
places and foods and the difference from Chicago is way different because Matehuala is a small
town where everyone knows and in Chicago you can’t know anyone. Another difference is in
Matehuala people walk around instead driving cars. It made me realize that Matehuala is poor
but with a big heart.
