that Haymitch isnt a nice man, and that she is happy that Alice didn’t marry him, and she
ripped up the papers. After, Alice and her mother opened a boating company, and continued
to sail all over the country.
Character’s View of Justice:
The Red Queen is the protagonist of Alice through the Looking Glass, who has grown up
her whole life being compared to her sister the White Queen. The Red Queen has always been
jealous of her sister, because it seems that the White Queen always got what she wanted. Since
the Red Queen was the eldest daughter she took over the throne. When the Red Queen took the
throne she forced the people of her castle to dress and be more like her. Since the Red Queen has
an extremely large head, she thinks that everyone needs to be like that so she doesn’t feel out of
place. All the Red Queen’s acquaintances have abnormal sized noses, heads, stomachs, and any
other body part. This action goes against human dignity which is to inherent dignity of every
person because every person is made in the image and likeness of God. At the end of the first
movie, Alice in Wonderland, the White Queen takes the crown and banishes the Red Queen from
Underland. Even though the Red Queen was banished from Underland, that didn’t stop her from
acting unjust. The Red Queen still continue to treats people unjustly, and is very self-centered.
This action goes against virtue, which is a habitual an firm disposition to do the good. All the
Red Queen thinks about is benefitting herself, and treating others less than human.
The Red Queen’s view of justice all changed after an event that happened when the Red
and White Queens were kids. Their mother came into their room and demanded an answer of
who ate the last tart that was on the plate. The Red Queen said it was her sister who did it, but
when their mom asked the White Queen if she ate the last tart her answer was no. Their mom
assumed that she was telling the truth because the tart crumbs were under the Red Queen’s bed.
The Red Queen bursts into anger and says that her sister is lying, and then storms out of the
house. The Red Queen ends up tripping and hitting her head off of the statue in the court yard in
front of everyone. This is why her head swelled up to be so large, and this was the Red Queen’s
most embarrassing moment in her life. After that day, that is when the Red Queen changed her
view of justice in a negative way, before that event she had a positive view of justice. The Red
Queen ends up holding the Hatter’s family captive which goes against legal justice which is to go
against the law.
The Red Queen’s view of justice, goes against what Christ taught us to do. The Red
Queen made people feel like they had to change who they were, because they didn’t fit her
perfect image of what she thought they were supposed to look like. Another example is that the
Red Queen held the Hatter’s family captive in an ant farm for several years. Jesus Christ our lord
wouldn’t have done that to anyone, he would welcome them into his house and place them at his
banquet. The Red Queen’s view of justice is like a no mercy justice, she thinks that there is only
one way to do things. Also the Red Queen thinks that her way is the best way and if you aren’t
doing it her way then as she always says, “Off with your head!”
