introduction on the different types of clocks (analog and digital). The
students will then learn about the units of time (Reading analog
clocks by 5s, 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, and 24
hours in a day) through a brief instruction by the teacher. After the
lesson introduction on time the students will have a guided practice
with the teacher. The students will then be presented with a slide of
analog clocks with times and as a class the teacher will call on
students to match the written times with the corresponding analog
clock. They will drag the times into their appropriate boxes, matching
each time to the nearest hour. After having some practice telling time
to the hour the students, still under the guidance of the teacher, will
then practice telling time to the half hour by drawing in the minute
and hour hands to match the provided time. The teacher can type in
extra times for the students who need additional practice. The
students will then practice telling time to the nearest quarter-hour by
dragging the corresponding time into the matching analog clock box.
The students and teachers will complete the same step on the next
slide, but this time the students will be telling time to the nearest five
minutes. After the guided practice the teacher will call on students
individually to drag the correct times into their matching boxes. These
exercises also require students to manually write in the times on the
analog clocks. The teacher can write in additional times if they feel
the students need additional practice.
