I, Mr. B. Samuel Susanth Prabhu, (Head of the Department of MBA, Malla Reddy Engineering
College) a Research Scholar of Sri Krishnadevaraya University, am pursuing my Doctoral
Program in the area of HRM with a special attention on “Quality of Work Life” in the
Educational Institutions offering Professional Courses in and around Hyderabad, under the
guidance of Dr. C. N. Krishna Naik, Professor & Head of the Department, SKIM, Sri
Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur.

Human Resources consist of the total knowledge, skills, creative abilities, talents and aptitudes
of an organization’s work force, as well as the values, attitudes and beliefs of the individuals
involved. As such Human Resources play a major important role in the success of any
organization.

Quality of Work Life (QWL) is an important aspect of HRM in the context of commitment to
work, motivation and job performance. It is a means to facilitate the gratification of human needs
and goal achievement. It also emphasizes on adequate and fair compensation, physical aspects of
working conditions, opportunities to develop human capacities, career growth, social integration,
constitutionalism and social relevance.
