Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.
ISTE Standards for Teachers
1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance
student learning, creativity and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
c. Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and
thinking, planning and creative processes.
2. Design and Develop Digital Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
Teachers design, develop and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools
and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes identified in the
ISTE Standards•S.
a. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning
and creativity. b. Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual
curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning and
assessing their own progress.
c. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies and
abilities using digital tools and resources
ISTE Standards for Students
1. Empowered Learner
Students leverage technology to take an active role in choosing, achieving and demonstrating competency in their
learning goals, informed by the learning sciences.
Students:
b. build networks and customize their learning environments in ways that support the learning process.
c. use technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their practice and to demonstrate their learning
in a variety of ways.
3. Knowledge Constructor
Students critically curate a variety of resources using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce creative artifacts and
make meaningful learning experiences for themselves and others.
Students:
a. plan and employ effective research strategies to locate information and other resources for their intellectual
or creative pursuits

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

“Google Drive is a freeware web-based office suite offered by Google. Google Drive allows users to create and edit documents
create slides, sheets, and forms online while collaborating in real-time with other users. Tutorials are posted for Google Drive,
Slides, Forms, Drawing and Sheets.”

Google Drive can be organized into files and shared with your chosen audience and color coded.

INTEGRATION IDEA - COLLABORATION

How might you integrate this resource in a lesson plan to promote collaboration among students in your classroom, or among
students and others outside of the classroom?

There are many possibilities with google drive. One is to use a google doc to collaboratively work on an assignment. As
an instructor you could create a shared file and assign group members access. Not only could students see in real time
what their other group members are contributing but as a teacher you can add comments as well. One student could
be in the library, one could be taking photos on their phone or conducting interviews, and another could be in the
classroom editing contributions as they are added.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
 Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.
This is a level 3 on the “value-added rating scale”.
By utilizing google drive to collaborate on a group assignment student can work from anywhere that has internet access. Students
could create from multiple locations contributing in differentiated ways all while the while the teacher can see every keystroke
made and offer real-time feedback. Tasks could be assigned to fit the individual needs of each student. Without the use of
technology this assignment would next to impossible to complete in a reasonable amount of time.
